Well I got my first truck when I was three
Drove a hundred thousand miles on my knees
Hauled marbles and rocks and thought twice before
I hauled a Barbie doll bed for the girl next door
She tried to pay me with a kiss and I began to understand
There's somethin' women like about a pickup man

When I turned sixteen I'd saved a few hundred bucks
My first car was a pickup truck
I was cruisin' the town and the first girl I see
Was Bobbie Joe Gentry the homecoming queen
She flagged me down and climbed up in the cab
And said, "I never knew you were a pickup man"

(Chorus)
You can set my truck on fire and roll it down the hill
And I still wouldn't trade it for a Coupe de Ville
I've got an eight foot bed that never has to be made
You know if it weren't for trucks
We wouldn't have tailgates
I met all my wives in traffic jams
There's just somethin' women like about a pickup man

(There are more verses but I'll spare you)

It means its the same vehicle as the $42k Chevy Tahoe you see soccer moms carting groceries in everyday. You're spending a pile of money for nothing more than the metal outside the vehicle which is molded to look like a domesticated version of a real Hummer.

Wow, what a coincidence! A friend was just asking me what the etiquette is when a person one has been "dating" for a few weeks has a birthday. Is a nice dinner and a blow job enough, or is she also supposed to get him a card?

Oh. I thought you meant that you had a truck that had a GM chassis and a kit-car shell...

I don't own a car. People who own cars are terrorists.

There's a family in my neighborhood who have a Hummer (one of the old ones -- before they became "the latest thing" -- I think they were really expensive, right? Like, $100,000 or something?). Anyway, I think it cost more than their house. It's very odd.

My husband and I speculate that they won it on a game show or something.

Are you sure about this? I've seen a stripped frame and drive system, and it looks nothing like a Tahoe frame setup.

The real Hummer is not anything like the Tahoe, but the H2 shares most of its guts with the Tahoe.

Ah, I must have been looking at a H, not an H2. Thanks.

I've seen a Porsche parked in front of a trailer enough so that this doesn't surprise me. It's just a question of priorities.

Absolutely. $3k stereo in a $2k car is not unusual at all. Stupid, but not unusual.

dtb lives in a trailer park? COOL. Must provide lots of opportunities for grammar corrections.

I like to cook fish and vegetables on the grill for fish tacos. The man at the fish counter at the local supermarket always recommends tilapia for tacos. I always opt for some fancier, classier fish. But, two weekend ago, I decided that I would give the tilapia a try. I marinated it for 6-7 hours in a cilantro-salsa-lime juice sauce. Then, when I cooked it, I dusted the tilapia lightly with jalapeno salt. The result was quite satisfying. The tofu comparison made earlier is somewhat accurate -- the fish absorbed flavor quite well, but (addressing GWNC's concerns) did not lose its fish-like flavor. The texture was also excellent, as it was light and flaked into soft taco-appropriate chunks easily. I am now a bit concerned about the raised-in-sewage allegation made by Bilmore. Otherwise, I would recommend this fish for grilling/soft taco purposes without hesitation.

Hank, not every post needs to be Picasso-worthy. As prolific as Picasso was, you are more so. There is no way you can maintain that kind of quality post after post. But that's OK/O.K.
If you marinated it for 6-7 hours in a sauce that any significant amount of lime juice, you technically had grilled ceviche tacos. It only takes about 30-45 minutes to "cook" fish in a strong citrus marinade. NTTAWWT.
