For me it is the Big El, Fargo, Raising Arizona, Barton Fink, Hudsucker (though Fargo, RA and BF are in pretty much a three way tie for second) and I dont remember blood simple and millers crossing well enough to rank . i didnt like o brother and I missed the man who wasnt there. The Big L is a solid head above the others. It is just the best comedy ever written period, and comedy is my favorite genre. and there are few good comedies. I al watching it again tonight when I get home. Its gonna thunde, so it wiill be great alongside a mellow fire, some pumpkin ale and delivered chinois.

Word. I suppose I'd rather they have lost to the Cubs (if they had to lose at all -- which, evidently, they did...), but I'm surprisingly not all that upset about their loss. I usually can't even read the coverage of the game a day after a Yankees loss (even in the regular season); I just get too upset.

But oddly, I'm not all that plagued about it -- and I think you've hit upon the reason why -- as long as NY beats Boston, it's all good.

Doesn't this then confirm that there's a rivalry? I thought that was the Yankees' thing: showing indifference in the face of Boston's "rivalry" statements, which is much more insulting than admitting to and enjoying the rivalry. Saying "we're not really rivals - we ALWAYS win - you're just another faceless team that hates us" is much more insulting.

That's the one -- they're supposed to be talking about their fantasy (as in, what's your ideal life -- say, to retire and ride horses all day, or whatever). Gareth walks in late, and all he hears is "What's your fantasy?" and he sort of shrugs and says, "I dunno... two women? Me just watching?"

Hilarious. I don't exactly heart Gareth -- but I find him amusing in a puppy dog sort of way -- and the look on his face when he drives past the camera in the motorcycle sidecar after the night club? Priceless.

I can see hearting Tim though -- and the cute guy who "went to university" and shags the trainee girl (or whatever she is -- forget her name -- the one Gareth gives one-on-one safety training to.)

I totally agree, but I didn't get a child molester vibe from him. More like deep closet case--and his one brother who was always on the news gave me the same vibe. I've known lots of Mormon men who've struck me the same way (including my bil's dad), but I think it's not exclusive to Mormons. Any conservative religion in which homosexuality is taboo would tend to have them. See John Ashcroft for a non-Mormon example.
