I did see them. Teal-ish. Sensible, for Jimmy Choos. I cannot find a photo now.

Here they are. They don't match the gloves (which looked good with the dress) but that's OK.

I love it, and love the color combination. I'd wear it.

I love, love, love the glove-dress combo. My only negative thought was that it looked somewhat sparkly for daytime, but given the sparkling nature of the occasion, it was easily overlooked.

She's just gorgeous.

And, my GOD -- who wouldn't love this guy?!? He's so awesome.

And what inaugural address has ever included "non-believers" in the litany of religions protected by our constitution?

I am very sorry for your loss. How are the kids taking it?

My sweet girl died last spring, and I still get choked up when I think about her. What helped me was the feeling that she was looking to me to help her end her suffering (and she was suffering). In her last hour, she was still able to sit up and have a bit of cheese (one of her favorite treats), and her final moments were peaceful and in my arms. But I still really miss her.

Especially, I think, because the Brazenette gives me that same thumbs up at least once a day.

Paine's anonymous publication of Common Sense was the inspiration for my Shadow series of socks on the old PB, the one I invented.

in confession did the Priest let you admit to all the ill done by your socks as a group, or did he make you mention each individually? If the later, can you tell me what you said about the Juan USMC crime?

I don't love it. Color is meh and bodice cut is wrong wrong wrong for her. I would have loved something in a vibrant color for the inauguration balls. Makes me appreciate her daytime outfit all the more.

Barack, on the other hand, well, damn he just always looks good.

A black man in a suit will always look better than a white man in the same suit. There, I said it. Notice I said "same suit," which I mean literally -- no unfair "Clive Owen versus Fred Berry" comparisons. But I will put up Denzel, Haysburt, Kanye, Cheadle or Obama in a suit up against anyone the white race cares to name as its champion.

Oh, well. At least we look better in kilts. Some of us, I mean.

I liked the dress better when I thought it was a soft yellow and not winter white, and a sleeker bodice would have been better, but I thought she looked lovely. She's got the arms and shoulders to look great in it.

Inaugural address revisted

I read the transcript just to see how much of what I thought was so inspiring yesterday was Obama's delivery and not just the words.

It was inspiring. It stands on its own in print even without the oratory. Doggone it was good.

A hook/clip to chain my ID/swipe cards to would be more practical in this day and age.

With that jacket, the superfluous third button would stop me.

I think the pocket looks somewhat affected, but I'm not sure it would stop me.

Sure, but I'm looking for some use, like the lift-ticket loop on my ski jacket--who has tickets any more, at least when you're wearing a suit?

Anyway, I hook over my belt or waistband, not the belt loop.

Yeah. What an awesome hat. Fuckin A.

I tried to like Michelle's inaugural gown -- I really did, but I think it was just a little boxy on her. She has a fabulous statuesque body and the draping could have been a lot sexier.
