We went to the Dynamo / Puebla game tonight, my first MLS game. Terribly fun, even with the four red cards and the near fight at the end of the game. No vuvuzelas, but one of the Dynamo support groups has some trombones and trumpets and drums. The other just has drums. Not nearly as full as Fenway was, but apparently SuperLiga doesn't sell out all that much. Almost definitely going to the All Star / Man U game next week.

I'm always surprised that SuperLiga matches don't sell better. Since there is bonus money at stake, those are the matches where the MLS teams tend to leave it all out on the field.

I loved MLS matches. I was a Revs season ticket holder and Midnight Rider (supporters group) member for years until I finally had enough of the inept Kraft ownership. The Krafts are the worst owners in the League, and use the Revs as a tax write off. They also nickel and dime promoters so that's why there are no longer any international matches or friendlies at Gillette. Bastards.

what does "leave it all out on the field" mean? Squirt fake blood when they fall down?

I am going to test-drive the base and the turbo S this weekend. If I am still not sold on reliability, I may lease for three years and then decide whether to pay the residual or throw it back.

Ms. Slothrop, who is much more inclined than Less to transport Atticus' children, wants a Ford Flex. Can someone help me?

I am not really an SUV type of guy, but I have had these as rental cars a few times and they are alright. Family friend and better than most comparable choices that I know of. Go for it.

Can't you just pop one of these on the trailer hitch if you need extra seats?

It's the 2011 model. They sell an MT Mazda5 here already; just an older bodystyle. It's on sale in Europe first, but I've seen nothing to indicate Mazda will have a different Mazda5 for the U.S.

Allegedly, however, they are super-comfortable and when fully-loaded limousine-like inside.

Despite this, I am with you. It's far too ugly to drive.

I'm not a fan of replacing the radiator (they go on on the E39 around 100k miles... bad part-plastic valve design) or having to replace suspension parts (wife drives like a lunatic and broke control arms), but other than that, it runs like the day we got it. I plan to get 250-300k out of it. I plan to do the same with my Toyota truck as well. If it all works out, I'll have gone many, many years without making any car payments, which I fucking loathed.

Hi! Nice to finally see the inside of Fenway. If by Celtic end you mean the seats along the third base line, we were there too (section 149 I think). Never heard the vuvuzela over all the songs going on, thank god.

Quite an ordeal getting up there and back (got home at 4 AM) but well worth it. I think the Landsdowne made enough money to put them in the black for the rest of the year.

They should do it every year -- the place is just the right size and in most places (like behind the goals) you're very close, just like in the new smaller purpose-buit stadiums here.

A buttplug on wheels. Uglier than the Benz R-Class minivan, which I'd previously assumed was the ugliest vehicle of the last five years.

The Vuvuzela was up behind me (I was in 153). If I had known you were there, I would have passed along the beer tip (go up, not out to the main concourse). Knowing Fenway well came in real handy last night.
