I've always been a Crest person, but my favorites (as far as flavor goes) are Aquafresh and if you can find it, the blue Aim. Mildly minty - not overpowering. The Tom's stuff tastes too much like baking soda which gives me flashbacks from college parties I used to attend.

If minty pastes are making you feel sick, Colgate makes children's toothpaste in bubblegum and fruit flavors. Look for the picture of Barbie on the tube.

When I think of fun in the sun I often flash back to a Spring Break spent in Daytona the year "Informer" sung by ??? was all over the place (this was the one about licking your boom boom down). One could not get away from that horrible song, although I think I enjoyed it at the time.

I also think of "Short Dick Man" for the same reasons. I even had a hilarious Spanish version until I lost that CD.

Wasn't it PCP that made Helen Hunt jump out the third floor school window in that After School Special?

I always think back to a summer I spent on the gov'ts dime in Trois Pistoles, Quebec, where the local bar would play "O Carolina" about 5 times a night as I danced with the comely french lasses. Not bad times at all.

Speaking of which, went to see Foo Fighters a week ago and the venue was on the same site as a big amphitheater site. So we get stuck in this horrible traffic and we are wondering what's up with all the Foo Fighter fans in tie dyed shirts, etc. Then we start seeing parrothead references. Yes, you guessed it, Buffet was playing at the outdoor venue... So the funny part of the story is that the parking guys were guessing (probably pretty accurately) which concert people were coming in to see based on their appearance. We were pegged for Foo Fighters and I was relieved. Thank God I left my parrot at home...

Atticus, Atticus

But who wants to hear my verse to come,
About a Grinch, an ill-bred varlet?
Though yet, heaven knows, his ass and his thumb
Combined gives him joy. Not all, but a part of it.

If I tried to write of his "wit" in these lines
The members, no fear, would not soon tire of it,
The verse I would write, would not fill one line
I then would make light of his overstuffed doublet

I'll stop now, you piteous rump-fed puttock
You're scorn'd like old men, Like Less and his tongue,
That fobbing villain, another thumb-n-buttock
Birds of a feather in this antique song.

You're bless'd with an old man's energy and a youth's IQ,
Atticus, Atticus, I say Fuck You.

I saw her this a.m. on one of the morning shows (after you all were undoubtedly already at work - it was late) and she kept saying how she felt embarrassed to be prancing about with little clothing and I kept thinking - "then stop!" OTOH - I thought she looked pretty good (they showed the making of a video) for someone who was clearly not comfortable with the shots. I'm not sure about the music yet, though, but it will sell - remember old fogeys like us aren't buying most of the music.

Yes, it seems like the reverse career arc. Usually it's T&A to get yourself noticed. Then become more mature. Of course, no full albums in a few years may create a need for a career jolt. Or she's all out of money, and the record label offered her only hoochie clothes to wear.

Quote:

Old fogeys like us are the only ones buying music. The younger set just steals it through kazaa etc.

And, speaking of buying music, I was browsing the Apple music store. They have a Jewel section with the "making of the video" for whatever that new song is with her dancing around like Brittney. Curiously, the segment on the today show this morning was essentially that exact making-of-video, with Matt Lauer's voice dubbed over in sections, or with brief cuts to him asking questions. All the video footage was online. Has the Today show sunk to stock footage à la Entertainment Tonight?
