When are you going to understand that it is a rare occasion indeed when one can get another to change their opinion once their mind is made up. You can't browbeat anybody into thinking you are "cute" or "pretty" or whatever when they don't think you are.

P.S. There was nothing inherently mean about his assessment of you. You wanted honest, he gave you his honest opinion. Plus, if you've spent any amount of time on these boards, he could have been a lot less "nice" in his assessment than he was.

I am sure there's somebody out there who finds you cute, or pretty, or "interesting-looking," or whatever, it just isn't him. It appears you've already found that person -- the guy you married, but like my grandmother always said, there's a lid for every pot. So really, what do you care?

All kidding aside this has kind of fucked with my head. Which is I am sure, TM's goal since he's all about the truth, and being "honest" and basically messing with people's heads. If that was your goal, good man, then you've achieved it. But me being me I reserve the right to consult a second opinion :)

sigh. TM is this what this is all about? you are supposed to be objective. I didn't find you attractive in that way either but was able to say objectively you are handsome. I think you're mistaking that with analyzing objectively. you're not my type either at all. not that you weren't nice or intelligent...you are.

I didn't become a psychotherapist (what my selfish mother wanted me to be) because I realized that you have two choices with the patient/client bases: the extremely mentally ill (whom, by coincidence, I now represent) and the run-of-the-mill neurotic. I didn't think I had the guts for the extreme mentally ill population and I thought I'd want to kill the boring neurotics going over the same points endlessly.
