Whan that Aprille, with hise shoures soote,
The droghte of March hath perced to the roote
And bathed every veyne in swich licour,
Of which vertu engendred is the flour;

Whan Zephirus eek with his swete breeth
Inspired hath in every holt and heeth
The tendre croppes, and the yonge sonne
Hath in the Ram his halfe cours yronne,

And smale foweles maken melodye,
That slepen al the nyght with open eye-
So priketh hem Nature in hir corages-
Thanne people need to get over the natural evolution of the english language, already.

Apropos of nothing

The absolute worst is when someone who cannot write decides to rework your memo when you're just trying to get the damn thing to the client. Especially when said person make me look like dtb with respect to grammar.

OK, OK, I'm guilty of not bothering to read Atticus' drivel very closely. Yes, I screwed up. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

But you people actually spent your good time parsing out drivel and thinking about it.

Hath in the Ram his halfe course yronne?

Some things never change.

Ok, I'm the second worst here on proof reading, but that only means I'm the one who has to tell you: if you do a rant like this, you really need to proof it. Copy it into a word doc, and run spell/grammar maybe?

The memo edits were that bad.

I worked with a woman (topic of a prior board flaming) who rewrote every single word of a brief I did. Every. Single. Word. She changed every "who" to "whom" and every "nevertheless" to "however" "irregardless" of context.

Then on the second draft, she changed every "whom" to "who" and every "however" to "nevertheless" and asked me who taught me English and what my first language was.

She was eventually busted from partner to associate to out the fucking door.

Come to think of it, once when we had a GA getogether I got a message from her at home at 9:00 the Friday before Memorial day. My wife, thinking it was me checking messages, let it go to voicemail without listening.

When I got home at 11:00 or so, I listened:
"Icky -- I don't know where the fuck you think you are going this weekend or what fucking plans you think you have, but you had better change them to working here all weekend on the ** brief with me."
