Still, a month or more to get a toxicology report? That wouldn't fly on CSI would it?

We've just set a new record in board killing, at more than an hour without a new post on the FB.

Currently, I'm listening to GAs and GPs make unreasonable demands on my time and resources. It's not one of my favorites, but unfortunately it usually stays in the Top 5 of things I listened to today at work.

Speaking of which, anyone know how XM radio works in interior offices?

Wow. Not the re line I was hoping to see. I would really like to have seen "NFH wins the lotto, tells off boss and snotty co-workers - retires to Hawaii."

But hey, this is what happens when you people take your 2 hour lunches all at the same time. I'm going to have to institute a policy now that all lunches be staggered.

In related news, "Arrested Development" has surpassed "The Simpsons" as the funniest series on broadcast TV.

What is the difference between broadcast TV and any other kind of TV? Is it different from cable TV or satellite TV - aren't they all broadcast in some form or another?

(this is a serious question. I assume if Atticus considered the show to be the funniest on TV he would say so instead of qualifying it.)

While waiting for that Japenese crap discussed yesterday to arrive, I'm stuck with
Ryan Adams - Rock N Roll
Jet - Get Born
Jay Z - Black Album
The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow
and not super new, but awesome all the same:
The Flaming Lips - Fight Test Japenese EP with covers of Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out of My Head" and Radiohead's "Knives Out"

Fav. Line of last episode: I'm looking for something that says "Daddy likes Leather"

One of my Christmakah wishes is for a back-story episode on the courtship and wedding of Tobias and Lindsay Fulke.

The writing on Arrested Development could not possibly be funnier, and everyone's comic instincts are so dead on.

And, as my wife notes, the makeup job they're doing on Liza Minelli is incredible because she hasn't looked this good in years.

"Broadcast" to me means stuff transmitted over-the-air, so everything on VHF or UHF is broadcast. I guess I could have used "network television" instead, but by your reasoning a satellite broadcast would be a network, too. Contrast with "cable channels," which still means something to the people at the ACE awards. At least, it's a source of self-deprecating jokes by Jon Stewart on one of the cable news shows.

Agreed, but it's Funke. I think the names (George, Michael, George Michael, GOB, Maebe Funke) are one of the best parts about the show. The TV writer for our local paper said the "GOB" joke would get funnier over time, and he was right --- it does.

I think the fake teasers at the end of the show are also really funny, but they were used on "Reno 911" first.

The lawyer characters were both hi-lar-i-ous. "I've used exactly one adjective to describe myself. What was it?" "Professional." "Exactly."

Satellite is also not "broadcast" for some strange FCC reason. Dunno why, but it's not.

Why are you pissed at Whedon? Angel's been on break so it can't have been misbehaving. Or is it the long break that is pissing you off? I have some vague idea that the next new episode is the 14th.

I was worried that I'd missed something. Is it just the hiatus? I much prefer a long winter hiatus to a long spring hiatus. The weeks from February sweeps until mid-April without new shows suck majorly.

(yahoo news article on Christian nudist colony)

From what I've seen on HBO's Real Sex series, the only people who visit nudist colonies are people you'd never ever want to see naked in the first place. I can't imagine the religious element raises the bar any. Is this one of those faith-based initiatives that we keep hearing about?

Three things about the show that astonish me:
Jason Bateman is hilarious and hot.
Liza Minelli is intentionally hilarious.
Portia de Rossi is competent.

Yeah, hiatus, it's been a fairly long one. However, it coincided nicely with my schedule going all to hell, so it meant I haven't missed anything and therefore I've not been annoyed by it.

Britney is Officially Free

JANUARY 5--Two hours after Britney Spears petitioned a Nevada court this morning for an annulment of her quickie nuptials, a Las Vegas judge granted the singer's request, effectively erasing a marriage that was shorter than one of Spears's pub crawls. The annulment order was signed by Clark County District Court Judge Lisa Brown.
