Update

As I suggested, at least one of the Chechen plane bombers got on the plane via bribery - http://edition.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/eu...ash/index.html . In fact, they had caught and detained the Chechen women, taken their passports, but then released them. Doh!

That picture above (the female half of it, anyway) looks eeirly like my cousin. Thankfully, no member of the family looks like the Sopranos-wannabe dad/husband (hi, Hank!), so it's clearly not her. Oh, and the fact that they're somewhere near a bar, something verboten in the wingnut branch of the family.

On a more or less unrelated note, my new favorite adult beverage is vodka and 7-Up Plus. Mmmm, tasty, and low in carbs to boot.

Why not just use diet 7-Up and have no carbs?

Ettiquite question

I was up at an insanely early hour the other day, and since there was absolutely nothing on TV, I watched a few minutes of the VH-1 Top 20 countdown while flipping channels*.

While I was watching, the host or hostette referred to some female artist as a "MILF".

Has this term entered the common language? Is its use now acceptable?

Can I get a ruling on this? dtb?

* I realize this is tremendously FB-uncool, but there weren't even any good informercials on. I'll live with the stigma.

Because 7-Up Plus actually has flavor (a little juice) and it does not have the nasty aspertame aftertaste.

Then again, I could just do shots and get no carbs, but since there was assorted mexican consumed at about the same time, the atkins diet will have to wait.

Important news

1. A dude was arrested for misdemeanor theft for leaving less than the 18% mandatory (according to menu) gratuity for party of 6 or more - http://www.wnbc.com/money/3720971/detail.html . One, is the menu an enforcable contract? Two, is breach of that contract theft?

2. The new Survivor, starting tomorrow, has two lesbians, which is unusual given that the "gay" contestants on reality TV shows are almost always male. CBS, for example, has had 14 gay mey to zero gay women on its five seasons of The Amazing Race, five seasons of Big Brother and eight seasons of "Survivor.

3. In related news, my alma mater just hired this woman as its athletic director:

No no no, Flinty, it is the disgusting flavorless tasteless sludge-eating tilapia that comes from WV, not Hank.

Nice setup. Set-up. Whatever.
