The places that are easy to get to from here would just suck in August.

So, we're thinking Paris, Milan, or Madrid (all of which we could fly to non-stop from MIA).

Anyone have any alternative ideas, or thoughts on the 3 cities listed above?

BnB

Madrid is very hot in August (Milan is toasty too).

This isn't on point, but what about San Francisco?

First of all, Bethenny gained 35 pounds during her pregnancy, which is within the recommended 25-35 pound weight gain. Second, her baby was born 5 weeks premature, which explains the lower weight, as does the fact she is an older mother who had a lot of stress during her pregnancy and the fact that she herself is petite. Third, much of her weight loss was water retention loss. Fourth, this is not that strange or bizarre.

I gained 30 pounds during my pregnancy. My daughter was born 2 weeks early (full term, but 38 weeks) at 5.5 pounds. I had extreme stress during my pregnancy which the doctors say caused placental problems so that I was gaining weight but my daughter was not getting all she needed (and was why I was induced two weeks early). Me gaining more weight was not going to help her.

I also dropped all but 5 pounds of that weight within a few weeks and all of the weight within a few months. This is normal, in my opinion. While I do not judge* people who put on more than 35 pounds while pregnant or who retain significant weight after giving birth, it is not "impossible" or somehow wrong for mothers who do.

*Okay, I do judge, but I don't think they are bad people, just that they are overeating and/or underexercising.

while I take that under consideration you don't feel her eating issues had anything at all to do with this. at all? I gained and lost 45 with my first kid --never lost it-and then gained the requisite and lost every pound with the next 2 and just recently lost all of the baby weight. down to the size I was prior to kids ever. same dress size. each person is individual. each of my kids were full term and over 7 pounds. 9.15; 7.5, and 8.5

and, I'm sorry you had a stressful pregnancy. being preggo isn't easy at all.

Do I think her "eating issues" had anything to do with what? That her baby born 5 weeks early was not over 7 pounds? That she gained an appropriate amount of weight (actually, more than recommended since she was not fullterm) and then lost it postpartem? I don't see the problem here.

There is research that women that have eating disorders and a history of eating issues a) have issues getting pregnant and b) have issues having a full term healthy pregnancy. a 4 pound baby even if she gained 30 pounds....seems to be problematic as I see it.

I like Amsterdam but I'm not sure about August. Copenhagen? Stockholm?

My grandmother and her super-rich friend used to spend August in Zurich and traveling around Switzerland. I'd definitely think Northern Europe would be preferable if I lived in Florida because the last thing I'd want would to be some place equally hot and less reliably air conditioned.

But there is no rule that lets them overturn, is there? Any creative lawyering that can be done here on the baseball rules.

I'm sure the owners could have a quick vote to by-pass the rule. Stop thinking like a lawyer for 3 minutes.
