Apparently, this isn't a new trend.

My SIL is a secretary at a public High School. A couple of years ago, twin boys started ninth grade there. Their names were Lemonjello and Orangejello, I believe pronounced Lemahn-gelo and Orahn-gelo. She tells me she's seen some interesting ones over the last several years.
Maybe they were just a fan of the great former Blue Jays and Astros reliever. Warning - highly unfortunate photo to follow.

True. Each measure is insufficient standing alone, especially if there's big variation among stadiums in similarly sized cities. I am indeed assuming that there would be plenty more Cubbies to fill a larger Wrigley, simply from emptying the surrounding roofs, bars, drunk tanks, and mental health facilities.

What pushed my button first time 'round was the idea that attendance alone proves shit. A more realistic evaluation would probably include some combination of attendance, percentage of seats filled (somehow accounting for both the population and the rinky-dink factor), and, to hear Slave tell it, a pop quiz of the lineup administered at the turnstiles.

We've only been on a couple of dates, so even if he doesn't like movie theaters, shouldn't he be kissing my butt right now to get me into bed, and saving his weird-ass issues to tell me after the deed is done?

This is the functional equivalent of a guy asking if you'd like to go upstairs and see his etchings.

Dude, as entertaining as a 1979 topps card last seen in my bicycle spokes is, aren't you supposed to be on your honeymoon?

Are you related to B_L's hot date who won't go to the movies, perchance?

Well, I guess we're beginning to see where the "Grinch" in your name comes in, Mr. Cranky. Do you ever stop to think that maybe you have a whole lotta *knowledge* but maybe not so much *wisdom*??

O.K., I'm not really as mad as I seem! Just practicing my flaming skills!!! After that baseball thread today ... hoooo boy! I figured I need some practice before I start playing with the heavy hitters (no pun intended - maybe!!!).

Speaking of patentpara, where is she these days? Did she ever make it to the new boards? Paging patentparanyc!!! Paging patentparanyc!!! Come in patentparanyc!!! hahaha I can tell its getting late! Alrighty, bed time for yours truly. :o Good night greedy brothers and sisters!! Thanks for a GREAT first day as a greedy. I told my friend at work that I finally jumped into the fray. He thinks I'm nuts. He said I'm going to get "eaten alive." What a sourpuss!

Well in the biggest collapse of a bullpen ever staged, the Cubbies could have done it tonight. Who knew that Prior should have gone 9?

And with all these socks talking to one another, it's nice to see 1 human still left. And Str8...
Go to bed!

Go to bed!
I appreciate everybody's concern, but after buying our house and spending about $15,000 on central air-conditioning, new ceilings (bad stucco, bad), new plumbing, new furnace, new hot water heater, and a new interior wall (magically turns a 3BR house into a 4BR house - it's "Wall!"), we don't have enough money for a honeymoon. Plus, the new Mrs. Str8 had her first day of professional-designation fashion design classes today, so we couldn't go away. But we'll be in Palm Springs Thursday-Sunday for our minimoon. And as far as being in bed goes, we did just fine Saturday night, and Sunday, and yesterday. But now I'm a bit tired.

leagleaze 10-15-2003 12:35 AM

Gratz Str8

And go to bed anyway. Cuddle or something.
