Is it possible to have a phone number for an iPhone be shared with another phone of any sort? Like, could I have my iPad function as a phone that had the same number as my iPhone?

Yes, I tried googling and there was a bunch of marketing crap plus I didn't understand what things were saying. Either I never would have, or I'm dumb now.

YOu can't do this with the native iPhone phone app, but you probably can with Skype or Google Voice (I haven't tried). Of course, holding the iPad up to your ear will get tiring quickly.

No. On Verizon, they have to give the ipad a phone number but that's for billing purposes. You can't get any calls at that number or make them using that number (as far as I know) but you CAN skype from it well.
