Thanks for posting the ula lady again, with what is probably a very tasty little Middle Eastern dish in the foreground, close to my dinner time. I always get hungry when I see that shit -- I know it's gotta be some pita bread made that morning in the stone oven, very salty, lightly fried to perfection, dipped in a spicy sauce that likely contains hummous, eggplant and cilantro, all lovingly ground up to near-liquid. Goddamn I'm hungry.

Moderate radical-moderate Islam: a (moderate) religion of Peace n tolerance part 2117

secondary school teacher in Saudi Arabia was charged with "dubious ideology, mocking religion, saying the Jews were right, discussing the Gospel and preventing students from leaving class to wash for prayer," according to the Saudi newspaper Al-Madina.

The teacher, Mohammed Al-Harbi, was sentenced to 40 months in jail and 750 lashes for his "crimes". He was denounced by colleagues and students at his school.

We cannot compete globally while spending lavish amounts of money to prop up people who aren't making it. Its a cruel reality we're better off facing and warnming people about very honestly than pretending doesn't exist.
Actually I disagree here. It is much cheaper to support somebody on welfare than it is to subsidize a job the economy doesn't demand. We have the money to keep the safety net and to retrain, we just don't have the money to subsidize failed industries indefinitely - Sugar is the perfect example.

Originally posted by sebastian_dangerfield The era of small govt is with us for good because we can't afford anything else. There's also been a societal shift. People don't care about the Great Society anymore because they have enough trouble just watching their own asses. We have to become a nimble competitive economy. We can't afford to worry about whether everyone is doing well anymore. We just don't have the time or cash to be so luxurious in our interests anymore.
Actually, if we stay a nimble economy we can support the five percent out of work. But if we allow the Unions and the protectionists to turn us into a static economy we won't have the money to keep the safety net up.

My point was that the two cultures can't be compared at all and it is a lot easier for Latinos to "integrate" since the majority share the same religion as the majority of their host country.
My point was that the US integrates muslims better than the Europeans. We integrate every ethnic and racial group better than the Europeans. Yes it easier to absorb hispanic, but we also absord Muslims.

And yes, lots of people are multiracial, meaning what? Are we now talking about black/white integration? If not, I don't see how visiting an inner city school is going to prove the Muslim-integration points in the article (I thought you wrote that thing; was it someone else's article?). You're not going to be able to glance at a child and know if he's (A) 1/2 Dominican Republic and 1/2 Irish heritage; or (B) 1/2 African American and 1/2 Polish; (C) 1/3 South Asian and 1/3 Yanamomi with a Mom who eats monkey (NTTAWWT); or (D) 1/2 Appalachian and 1/2 Yemeni. The point is that Muslims may be integrating less into Western cultures than Latinos for reasons other than economics. The religious thing is huge. So is their having or accepting anti-Western sentiment. SD's cure-all of money, booze and chicks may work for him but the turd boys who took down our Towers had all that shit. The night before in fact. And Bin Laden has more wives than Bilmore has kids. And a fuck of a lot of money. And we all know how pro-Western that guy is. Same shit with the rich Arabs who dress Western style, live Western style and write checks to fund ulalating (hi Penske!) crazies with the strap-ons. There will always be an acceptance of violence (even among so-called moderate Arabs) against "Western Imperialists" even if the person becomes a Western Imperialist. Secretly, jihad and fatwas are appealing and romantic to the "moderate" Muslim set.
Very few of the terrorists (almost none) were raised in the United States. Many of them were raised in Europe. Again - we integrate better. I said that we have many multiracial people because you said we did not (Intermarriage? Gee I wonder why there's been more intermarriage between Latinos and non-Latinos. ) The true test of absorbtion is marriage across cultures. We have much more of that here than in Europe. Muslims intermarry here more, Jews intermarry here more, ethnic groups intermarry more. It is all across the board in the United States.

If their undergarments are any indication, they are hot. In Saudi Arabia, I saw tons of areas in the markets where women in their Chador were buying really hot black lacey underthings. They were ALL buying them. They seem to get frumpy when they get older (especially without dentists) but they are among the most beautiful women in the world when young. Plus they have that whole belly dancing thing. And, Good God. Queen Rania:http://www.aljazeera.com/cgi-bin/new.../pics/7282.jpg
I could think about her, in a non-Internet, non-platonic way, wearing little black lace thong panties. YMMV.

So Europe's present biculturalism makes disaster a certainty. One way to avoid it would be to go genuinely multicultural, to broaden the Continent's sources of immigration beyond the Muslim world. But a talented ambitious Chinese or Indian or Chilean has zero reason to emigrate to France, unless he is consumed by a perverse fantasy of living in a segregated society that artificially constrains his economic opportunities yet imposes confiscatory taxation on him in order to support an ancien regime of indolent geriatrics.

Interesting that the liberal leftist know-nothings in America would seek so actively to impose their segregated plantation of neo-socialist economic constraints, opportunity dampeners and confiscatory taxation in support of indolent dimwits on the freedom loving and diverse populace of the US. Perhaps W should turn the War on Terror inward on a more forceful basis.

ps: Another quote from the above cited article that begs to be posted here as a cautionary rejoinder to the demo nattering nabobists.

I love the way those naysayers predicting doom and gloom in Baghdad scoff that Iraq's a totally artificial entity and that, without some Saddamite strongman, Kurds, Sunnis and Shias can't co-exist in the same state. Oh, really? If Iraq's an entirely artificial entity, what do you call a state split between gay drugged-up red-light whatever's-your-bag Dutchmen and anti-gay anti-whoring anti-everything-you-dig Muslims? If Kurdistan doesn't belong in Iraq, does Pornostan belong in the Islamic Republic of Holland?

Clearly, one of the problems with sending your kid to public school is that you never know when she might be killed at school

Of course, if you homeschool you kid, you run the risk that you'll get shot in the head at your kid's "school."

Already did that this morning. I gave the kid 2 minutes on a half mile loop. Got the kid in my sites with about 200 metres to go. Waited until the last ten metres to mow em down. broke the little bugger's heart. Em thought em finally had a win. Hahahahahaha.

Kinda reminds of how the dimwits will feel in mid November 2006 when they dissect how they actually lost more ground to the Rs.
