Don't preach morals to me. No one on either side gets to do that.

It's also dull. Moralizing people are the dullest fucks you'll ever meet. Don't be one of those people.

With all seriousness, shut the fuck up already. Stay home. Go vote. Flip a coin. Game the system. No one cares.

You spend more time telling us all about how you don't give a shit and how you're sick of all the moralizing than anyone else does actually moralizing.

You're a moralizing dullard. The first blow of my metaphorical spiked baseball bat is reserved for your moralizing dullardry.

This is a sham election in what's increasingly becoming a banana republic for most people. The only problem is, the political landscape is dominated by cynical elites and uneducated fools.

Clowns to the left, jokers to the right...

You do realize that Clinton has tons of material on her position on almost all of these issues that you can find right on her website and that she's also given focused speeches on a number of them to try to draw more attention to them? She was basically doing one or two issues themes per week from the convention until about three weeks ago, when she moved into the final barnstorm mode.

What does that have to do with anything?

You have a personal set of beliefs about bad things that will happen if one or the other candidate is elected, but you're not going to vote on them because you think you will be personally fine either way. That's just inhuman.

If you said you agree with the Trumpnicks that electing Hillary is going to decimate uneducated white men, I'd think you're crazy, but I'd at least understand if you said you're voting for him. But to believe that and say you're not going to vote because you personally will be fine? Come on.

What's promised is not what'll be done. By way of example, you seriously think she's going to make good on her pledge not to push thru TPP? Hell, she's even been promising free college to hoodwink the Bernie voters.

Her promises are worth about as much as Trump's boasts about his wealth. You know it, I know it... 60% of people who view her as utterly untrustworthy know it.

Justice reform will get no traction because convicts have no power. Domestic spying will worsen because, "Hey. I'm not going to have Putin pull this shit on me again in 2020!" And because she's hawk. Demilitarization of police? Not a chance. That's a Libertarian issue, for crazy folks like Rand Paul. No votes there.

And where she's really going to fuck her followers but good is on global warming. The mother of all pivots on the Keystone Pipeline is coming.

I could go on, but the reality is, I should love Hillary. She's about as close to a moderate Republican as we can get. I can't figure out why so many GOPers hate her. But that's their problem, not mine. Life won't change much for me, or you, or most of everyone we know, on November 9th. And Trump wouldn't fix any of the things I listed above anymore than would Hillary.

So, why should I care? Because some twits are silly enough to believe we lack adequate checks and balances to keep Trump from starting a war? (Nevermind he's isolationist, and Hillary is nearly a neocon.) Because some crazy right wingers believe her election will be the end of the United States? (Wjatever the hell that means.)

You're all full of shit and hysterical about nothing. The Republic will go on, and the only real scandal in all of this is just how little things will differ between him taking control and her taking control. But go on... argue about the superficial issues. About whose emails are illegal, who's a sexist, who screwed up Benghazi, and who's a tax dodger... Have your little arguments. Your silly, frivolous little arguments, wherein you get to pretend you still live in a true democratic Republic, and your vote matters.

I don't think there'll be much of a difference. Neither party has an acceptable serious set of policies they actually intend to enact to deal with the niche issues with which I am concerned. And whoever's in charge will be gridlocked, if not immediately, then by 2018.

A bunch of dumb money would do dumb things after a Trump win, but the market would adjust. And there's opportunity in volatility. A nice buying dip would occur. Certainly, there are a number of people right now constructing strategies to exploit a Trump dip.

And if she wins? Great. The market will fly. Either way, the world does not end.

The real reason I suspect most of you have erections for Hillary is she's the status quo candidate. I see the wisdom in keeping things the same. We're all doing alright, I assume. Why fuck with things? For that exact reason, I will be happy to see her elected, which is exactly what I think I will see on November 8th (the electoral math still does not work for Trump).

But I also see the selfishness in that. I mean, let's face it -- nobody here wanted to see Bernie elected because he was a serious Socialist. But we're all fine with Hillary. She lets us feel like we're being selfless without having to make any actual sacrifices.

It's tedious. All this bullshit about why "empathy" would dictate I vote for a candidate. How insanely naive. Like a choice of politician can be empathetic.

it looks like the Rs hold the Senate and the House, she won't be able to do anything. Trump on the other hand will be able to do all kinds of crazy shit. I bet the House guys would be itching to pass laws that are actually enacted!

and the polls today? she is up 1.8% (discounting shame/Bradley effect) and "no toss up states," she has 273 e votes to his 265. shit ain't over.

Electoral math = He's dead. He needs to flip MI, CO, PA, or WI. Good luck there.

The Philly transit strike could significantly depress D turnout, but not enough to give him the win in PA.

if the polls are correct he needs to flip any state that has at least 4 votes, not a bigger one, any one.

How could anyone possibly be this full of shit?

You mentioned there are checks on Trump taking us to war. There are not. There are checks on him declaring war. He already promised to blow people up who were giving the finger to our ships in the Middle East. He's already mentioned killing the families of those he deems terrorists. If you think this man-baby wouldn't deploy troops over the stupidest, petty shit, I imagine you haven't been paying attention to anything other than your pretend cocktail parties where some dumbass says some stupid shit that you repeat here as if that's the current sentiment among people in a position to attend cocktail parties. If you don't have empathy for those put in harm's way for the dumbest of reasons, I can't help you.

You talk about Trump like he's the same as Hillary on any social issue. He's not. And if we wins, that would mean the Republicans held the House and the Senate. He would appoint the next Supreme Court Justice and maybe even three. You clearly don't give a fuck about the progress gay people and minorities have made in this country because that shit doesn't affect you personally. And if you don't think Trump would sit back and rubber stamp the most vicious religious "freedom" type laws, I can't help you. If you think the fact that the teeth of the VRA being removed hasn't affected the ability to vote for the people for whom you clearly have no empathy, I can't help you.

The fact that you think voting is solely a selfish act and project that bullshit on me means that I can't help you. Voting for the most powerful person in the world who has the ability to send people to give their lives and who can affect the rights of millions of people in a very real way is not some topic I can step back from and laugh about how none of this shit will affect me because I make money. That is a stupid, selfish, ridiculous, childish, evil approach to any fucking election.

And the fact that you spend as much time talking about how silly the whole thing is from your forced "outsider" position from which you have some special perspective on the pointlessness of all these silly political games and smugly condescend to those of us who actually care about issues that may or may not directly affect us shows to everyone on this board how full of shit you are. And that is an amazing feat because we already knew that you are mostly fucking full of shit.

So, participate in voting or don't. Keep posting about how nothing will happen of note no matter who wins. No one cares. We all know it's pure bullshit.

Can you imagine a Republican Congress doing anything constructive about any of these issues in the next decade?

If the presidential campaign seems pointless, it's because there seems to be little hope that the current GOP will do anything other than try to obstruct what Democrats are trying to do. That won't last forever, because the GOP represents a demographically shrinking electorate. They are more frantic and desperate because they know they are losing.
