I watched a "best of" video while in LS - forget who the actress was - but one of the scenes featured her on a ufo being probed by aliens. The costumes were about what you'd expect from a porn special effects budget. The aliens were basically dudes in green makeup with bouncy antenna-thingies on their heads. In the pre-viagra era. One of the finest examples of true professionalism I have ever witnessed.

Aug. 19 — The Princeton Review is releasing the 2004 edition of “The Best 351 Colleges,” a guide to help college applicants decide which school might suit them best. The book includes rankings about everything from the academics to the food.

Boulder, Colorado is said to have an endless amount of things to do: concerts, coffee shops, movies, parties, shopping and plenty of outdoor activities for those adventure-seekers. The Division I sports add to the energy of the school and the atmosphere around campus (campus is only 30 minutes from Denver too). The school is large, with over 25,000 undergrads enrolled last year. The student body is described as “a combination of rich kids and hippies, kids who don’t care about class work and kids who are super-competitive, studying hard during the week and letting loose on the weekends.”

This school is sponsored by the Mormon community and does have many restrictions on the students both academically and socially. Academically, there is an honor code and socially there is an “understanding” about the way people should dress, wear their hair, and keep their diet and their sexual activity. This school strictly “serves the needs of America’s Mormon community first and foremost.”

De Paul is the largest Catholic university and has a world-renowned drama department. Professors are said to be “great” and access to them just as good, as classes are on the smaller side. This school is somewhat of a commuter school being that it is in a large city like Chicago, which adds to the diversity of the student body. Students are happy here in large part to the fact that they take advantage of a city like Chicago, with many students relying on the city’s culture for fun. One student says “life in Chicago is great. They city has so much to offer: museums, theaters and restaurants.” Dorms are said to be “like palaces” and the food is said to be great another reason for students to be so happy.

It's more than an "understanding": the dress and grooming standards are part of the honor code itself. If a student gets reported for a honor code violation, it is far far more likely because his or her shorts are too short, his hair is too long, her neckline too low, etc., than because he or she cheated on a test or plagiarized a paper. In addition, students must undergo periodic "ecclesiastical endorsement" in which their local church leaders interview them and certify that they attend church and do not engage in any forbidden activities, including the use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and coffee and tea, and any sexual activity beyond kissing.

Or the fact of their (former) head basketball coach suggested that they cover up Baylor's illegal payments to the deceased player by alleging that he was a drug dealer. Too bad one can't defame the dead, but I hope the parents are looking at an IIED action.

Yes. She cohabitated with males. I don't know if the fact that she had male housemates was enough or if it was because she shared her room with a (gay) man.

In other RW NO gossip, many RWers dislike Julie. Apparently her publicity folks don't fight fair when it comes to the coveted speaking engagements. It started as a fight between her and Melissa, but has spread within the RW/RR community, with most alums siding with Melissa.

I am so sad.
