If you paid better attention, this wouldn't confuse you.
We were speaking of husband's brother. At all times. I don't have a brother. Or a sister.

There are two singers - one is a mini Jeremy Piven and I didn't place the other one. Both are quite good. The guitar player is a mini Stevie Ray.

I love the FCC song. Great lyrics.

It flabbergasts (haha! FLABbergasts!) me that some people are resistant to this idea. It is not the same as "everyone must be rail thin for aesthetic purposes." It is about health, not beauty.

Another pet peeve: Readers writing into fitness magazines all pissed off that the models are superfit and represent unrealistic body types. "These models don't look like me." So the fuck what?

I have hit it. I am tivoing Oprah with Jennifer Aniston. I don't think have seen Oprah since she went all highbrow (late eighties?). My apologies to Dave Letterman.

I don't really have much to say today, especialy given the football posts (take it to the sports board already). If GWNC is here, we can discuss this nice new facial line I discovered- Astara. The hydrating mask is very lite and hydrating.

Has anyone heard the new stuff from Sheryl Crow and Fiona Apple?

And happy birthday to my gay best friend from high school.

I think the reporter's problem is with the whole "not being fat = desirable" concept, and not with my brother (identified in the article only by his last name, which shows sloppy editing) and his camps and schools. Is it time for that FB perennial to pop up again? If so, let me go on record as saying that being obese is bad, and slimming down to a healthier weight, even if you have to pay companies large sums of money to help you do it, is something that should be applauded, not scorned.

By the way, after the recent Dateline NBC piece on the school, they're now full, and considering opening up a second school in the southeast.
I thought it was a fairly balanced article, and I thought the camp came out looking fairly good, even if some kids didn't want to be there.

Hello Sebby

I am so glad you are here to pass this Monday with. How was your weekend? Did you do anything interesting? I did some volunteer work at a charity whihc was very rewarding. I also got a deep tissue massage which left me feeling like I had done some intense yoga- the gal applied an acupresure technique which I have never expereinced before> I recommend this. I also bought a fabulous new cape made of silk and angora. All very rewarding. I did not go see Jackpot though I contemplated it briefly.

How are you so up on these relatively obscure bands (not New Pornos, I know em a little)? Espeically as a married dad of two? Do you have friends your own age who still like to go see live shows?

I bought a podium cap, I don't know from nothing about these handbands. The podium cap is very comfortable and an alarming shade of red to draw attention to me on the podium, which is my goal.

And fwiw, I don't want any of all of all y'all going out and buying the same podium cap. L-) The whole "Be Like Penske" thing is very very late 90s with a slight revivalist bent in 2001, but note, I ain't no role model.

It should be $5.00 or more a gallon. Keep raising the taxes until this country is broken of its dependence on the Arabs. We will know the price is high enough when Hummer goes out of business.

I was in Vegas for a bachelor party. I'd write something, but its all been said before...

Nothing revelatory. Nothing creative. No deepening of friendships. No wonderful experience to rememeber forever.

BUT - As a "forget everything and for a brief minute hallucinate yourself into believing there is no job, home and shitass professional sucker existence to go back to" destination, I must admit - Vegas is the shit. I barely knew my name when I left.

I could live the rest of my life in a casino. Its got all I need. Sure, its low brow culture, but fuck it... I've been to most of the nice places. I've done high brow - its overrated. I love the clock-killing part of Vegas. I had no idea when I got up or when I went to sleep or whether I was drinking or anything else before noon.

I know this sounds silly, but how incredible would it be if we banned the observation of passing time? Seriously, if we banned the observance of time as its presently done (and fixated upon by idiots who have a hard on for "being organized and maximizing the day"), life would pass much more pleasurably.

"So, when will that project be finished, Sebastian?"

"When its done."

Dissent, brother. I still don’t pay much attention to gas prices. I’ve just taken to running all my gas bills through the wife’s business. And if I couldn’t do that? I still wouldn’t get all pissed about it. I mean, really... gas is like water. What am I going to do? Go out and buy a Prius? Try driving that in the Winter up here. High gas prices are just one of those things I lament, along with death, wrinkles, having a job and paying taxes. In fact, gas is like taxes. You do everything you can to avoid paying, but when you have to pay, fuck it. Its just a cost of doing business, and there’s no use griping.

I'm getting ass fucked daily in so many other ways... gas seems the least of the offenses...

I know several plumbers, contractors and auto mechanics who have already adopted this approach. The revolution has not yet come to pass, however, and we remain mired in temporal chains forged by our own unthinking adherence to an inherently fascist conception of "time" as a quantifiable commodity. Dude.

I am all for this, and it will be my mantra when I quasi-retire. In fact, my weekend was a warm-up. I pulled an all-nighter for shits and giggles on Friday night, and went straight to the Cal game and started drinking beer at 11:30 a.m. I was passed out at 7:00 p.m., slept 15 hours, and then went to an Octoberfest beer-a-thon yesterday afternoon, which led to $2 all-night Happy Hour until 2:00 a.m. I hurt, but it was worth it.

Has there ever been a camp where there weren't at least some kids didn't want to be there?

I once attended a nerd camp that had a fat camp right across the way, and the two groups did a few things together in an ad hoc way (it was quite the social scene, let me tell you). For the most part the camp seemed to be a good thing, except for the couple of girls who really should not have been there at all, whose only problem was their (or their parents') body image.
