On the other hand, the only things I do with my phone are making and receiving calls, checking my bank balance on occasion, and of course surfing for porn in public.

I bought an iphone. I miss swype, but really like how smooth everything is. The touchscreen seems much more responsive. I also really like how light and thin it is.

Do I really need a protective cover?

Whenever I take my phone out of its cover, it feels naked to me. Mine is silicone, so likelihood of disaster is minimized should I drop it.

I have mine in a Casemate Vibe case. I drop mine frequently and it's survived every drop except the one that was face-down directly on the garage floor.

you need a cover. if fact I had a very stylish cover that wasn't cushioning and my phone smashed. you not only need a cover, you need a good cushioning one. Of course, I drive a big car, not a sports car, so ymmv.

No! Do not buy one. I do not understand why so many people get them.

If you must, get a small case to provide some protection for when you drop it, because it is possible if things go just right (or, um, wrong) to shatter the glass on either the front or back of the phone. Although I think even that is a small risk. I've had two iphones and dropped both numerous times with no issue. And, personally, I'd trade not having the added bulk and reduced usability for having to buy a new phone in the exceedingly small chance that it shatters some day.

In no circumstances should you get an anti-scratch coating for the face of the phone. It completely ruins the advantage of having that beautiful screen, which is made of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass anyway.

No.

ETA: Wasn't sure I'd ever say this, but I agree 100% with Adder. I've dropped my iPhone 4 several times and never hurt it. It was more necessary with the 3's because they had that plastic case that would crack easily, but I can't imagine the feel of the 5 is substantially different from the 4 in that regard. People find them slippery when they are used to holding a phone in some soft case, but once you get used to holding the phone sans case, it is not slippery. And it is sleeker and cleaner (which, face it, is why you get Apple products in the first place) without a case. IMO.

Steam them. Any other method is not Chicago. Buns should have poppy seeds. Authentic but often overlooked by foreigners: celery salt and sport peppers. The relish should be sweet relish, not dill.

If you put ketchup on them, I will have to hunt you down and kill you.

If the whole thing dosn't fall apart and leave mustard, relish, and tomato seeds all over your fingers, you didn'tdo it right.

Got all that. Wondering about any alternatives, like the whizz/provolone choice for a cheese steak.

People miss the sport peppers? Seriously? That's like leaving the bacon off of a BLT.

No. I've never made one. I usually just buy one from the hot dog stand guy on the street. At baseball games, I go with a polish with onions.

Bacon . . . like you might find in a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich.

I have walked up to people on the street and chastised them for ketchup on hot dogs. Also mustard on a hamburger is the number one thing that is fucked up about the part of this country west of NJ and east of California.
