One step ahead of ya -- for Easter I sent cards out (with pics of the Little Fan) and said "hey, I left some of Little Fan's pics for ya in case you wanna send them to your mom and dad or something. Easter cards too." He got the hint, who knows if it will stick. Is it rude to stop sending cards to people who never, not for any occasion, have sent me a fucking card??

No. It's just an easy way to save $2.50 and an innocent tree that would have to die to make and send the thing.

I'm sorry if I pissed anyone off today with the edits. I wasn't being power-hungry, I was just trying to spare people from having to scroll left to right to read the forums. I would never edit the content or words of anyone's posts, I just want you all to know that. If someone has a problem with me trying to keep pictures that are posted from being a nuisance, I will stop resizing them and we can let people post all the 1024x1024 pixel images that they want.

And the crack towards Less was said tongue in cheek. If there was an obvious spammer, I would let leagl handle it.

Thanks MR.

And really folks, you need to understand how much effort Mr has put into the site, most of it unacknowledged.

He remains the key to keeping the site running smoothly, whenever there is a problem he is on top of it, and/or I immediately go to him for his assistance.

He's not power hungry, he simply was messing around with Less and trying to make the board more readable, he certainly didn't mean to ruffle any feathers, and he never would have removed Less or anyone's links without talking with me or Slave first.

There has to be an alternate holiday for those of us with either Mommy Dearest-moms or gone moms. I suggest the Mommy Dearest victims take yourselves out for a fantastic dinner, pop a bottle of champagne to celebrate your survival skills, and have a day of total relaxation, pampering, and self-indulgence.

Me, my mom's deceased, so I'm lighting a candle for her for that 24 hours, buying a big bunch of her favorite flowers to enjoy, and making a pitcher of her favorite margaritas to drink in her honor.

I am fairly certain I will get one of two gifts I have hinted about lately. The DeLonghi Retro toaster oven that Bilmore thinks I won't use:

or Xena: Warrior Princess Season One on DVD:

http://images.bestbuy.com/mandm/imag...d/xena_dvd.jpg

It doesn't matter which, though, because I'm just going to by the other for myself. I'm kinda hoping for the toaster, because Xena, while she had many skills, wasn't really a super mom.

No, it's like the "invitations" rule: issue one, and if the person doesn't make a counter offer (or accept), you have made all the effort required of you and can stop. If you are desperate to maintain/establish a relationslhip, you can issue up to three without acceptance/reciprocal invitations, but after the 3rd you are obligated to stop, because you are pestering a person who has affirmatively expressed a lack of interest. 3 regretfully rejected invitations is civil-eze for "piss off, I want nothing to do with you, you stalker."

Similarly with cards & notes and such. If they don't send one back, you can stop. If they don't send one back after you've sent 3, you SHOULD stop. And if anyone bitches about it later, you can say with all confidence, "oh, you never wrote back, so I assumed your silence meant you were ignoring me to break things off." All social etiquette is based on the idea of reciprocity - no one has duties to anyone else who doesn't have reciprocal obligations to them, and the abandonment of the obligations on one side relieves the other. (NB: Reciprocity does not mean equivalence.)

I tend to send out cursory Christmas cards to a wider group, though, just so they have my address in case anyone wants to die and leave me their fortune.

It's not so much money as simply OJ's iconic status. Burger coverred that better, with fewer words to boot.

And there's something to Thurgreed's constant refrain of race, enough to give a certain persuasiveness to the saying that race is to America what caste is to India and class is to England.

Best moment of the show was at tribal council where Heidi said that she deserved to win b/c she was a such a good player that the remaining men were all terrified of her. Yeah, they looked petrified when you were still in the first stage of the immunity challenge trying to untie those hard knots (I hope you didn't ruin your manicure) and they were already done with the challenge. Seriously, she never won a single individual challenge -- what would they be scared of? Maybe they were petrified her oversized implants would melt when their camp burned down - burned plastic smells awful.

Can someone explain to me why that horrible whining bitch (yes, I know I said it's sexist and I barely ever use it--it was that or the "c-word") Jenna has survived this long? (1) she's not that pretty, but is constantly saying how beautiful she is and how men are so intimidated by her Aphrodite-ness; (2) she complains whenever she loses, so that she gets an entirely unfair result for herself, like when whatsername paid $300 for a letter from home at an auction and Jenna, who'd blown all her cash on peanut butter and chocolate, sobbed until everyone agreed to give her hers too, thus obviating whatsername's sacrifice; (3) I honestly cannot recall anything useful she's done.

Many thanks for any enlightenment.

Because people want to end up in the final two with a whiny bitch who has alienated everyone so noone on the jury will vote for her. You know how this show works, right? Would you want to go to the final two with someone nice and sweet who everybody loves?

Yes, precisely the strategy that made teh weakest link an incredibly boring game. Everyone voted to eliminate the strongest link, meaning all the idiots were left in the end unable to make any money for teh winner to take home.

I was even more amused when she bragged about how she was the mastermind behind every plan and plot in the game. While I understand that Rob was right to want to go up against Jenna in the final 2, part of me thinks that Jenna will go next and then whoever wins the final immunity will take Rob to the end. I think that the other guys would rather be up against Rob than Jenna. I can't decide whether everyone will be pissed at Rob and vote for the other guy or whether he'll get the you're-an-asshole-but-I-respect-how-you-played-the-game vote.

Typing Monkeys Don't Write Shakespeare
By JILL LAWLESS, Associated Press Writer

"LONDON - Give an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, the theory goes, and they will eventually produce the works of Shakespeare.
_
Give six monkeys one computer for a month, and they will produce a mess.

Researchers at Plymouth University in England reported this week that primates left alone with a computer attacked the machine and failed to produce a single word.

"They pressed a lot of S's," researcher Mike Phillips said Friday. "Obviously, English isn't their first language." "

With such a smart research plan, I'd rather associate with the monkeys than the researchers.

At first, said Phillips, "the lead male got a stone and started bashing the hell out of it.

"Another thing they were interested in was in defecating and urinating all over the keyboard," added Phillips, who runs the university's Institute of Digital Arts and Technologies.
