You refuse to consider how they'd fare against France/Mexico/Argentina/Greece in the quarters?

I don't want to get Sidd's hopes up by not assuming a loss in the quarters.

Plus, it was too much work.

--Colorado now part of the Pac-10.

--Nebraska rumored to be heading to the Big 10.

What caused the apparent demise of the Big 12??

flower and ncs are doing mock ppnyc posts? nwtf?

eta: Which would match the best result since 1930, and should be considered a fairly successful cup for USA.

If the US makes it out of group, it'll most likely play Germany. I doubt the US will place higher than England (though all of England's injuries may help), and I doubt Germany will place lower than Ghana or Serbia. Though Ghana was a surprise last time around, and maybe that style will work against Germany.

Beating Germany will be tough. The US left with pride intact in 2002, but with a loss to Germany.

Personally, I'm a little concerned about Slovenia. No, seriously. Their defense has been amazing.

Anyway. Is it tomorrow yet? And how many HD games can my TiVo hold?

fuck that. one month board support (or actually what it was $150) I take England and give 1 goal (does that even make sense?) Ties (meaing england wins by one) we each pay $75.

The odds are, well, whatever -- ridiculous. Not sure there's any significant difference between 50-1 and 100-1 -- a 2% chance of winning versus 1%? What's the margin of error there? It's like the 100-point wine scale, except increased to 1000 points. What's the diff between a 94 and a 96 point wine?

First, no one seriously has their hopes up:
Quote:

2010 FIFA WORLD CUP - GROUP C

ENGLAND 1-3
USA 4-1
SLOVENIA 11-1
ALGERIA 21-1
As for the difference between 50-1 and 100-1, there is none in a realistic sense because no team above 20-1 has a chance of winning at all, but if the fluke were to happen, the difference is a 2x return on investment, so go for the $1,000 win on a $10 bet rather than the mere $500.

As for me, I have decided to take a flyer on the Dutch at 10-1, and otherwise bet individual games. Tomorrow, the South Africans against Mexico (tie is a push) and the French against Uruguay (lose the tie).

Schools, be wary of joining the Big Integer. Big Integer includes schools in Ohio. You know what Life in Ohio is like?

you all know me. I've fought for what the baby Jesus would want on the PB for years. I've never asked him for anything other than money and another breasticle day, and he only delivered on one of those:confused::(

but earlier I called on him to have LeBron annouce he is going to New York to play- have him announce today- even though that will make Thurgreed insufferable through two sports seasons. because I always think of others.

If Lebron comes to the Knicks, I promise to be sufferable.

If Lebron comes to the Knicks, do yourself a favor and avoid passing by Macy's windows with your kids for a few days.
