For the last two weeks I've been listening to people bitch about how a so-called "perfect game" -- i.e., a baseball game where no one gets within 3 steps of scoring -- was "ruined" because the ump allowed someone to get to first base. Oooooooo.

Today I have to listen to those same people complain that soccer is boring because "no one scores". These are people who go to games where the most exciting moment is when the three dots race each other on the screen.

one team did score in the perfect game. a few times.

the board needs a bet on tomorrow's game. let's go?

in HS I was near the end of the bench. I got better in college and after. Anyhoo, I'd drink booze and even eat codeine pre game.

one Friday afternoon I asked coach to give me a chance to play more. i didn't think he would though so I got toasted before the game. He decided to give me my chance and put me in with 2 minutes left in the third and the game still in the balance. I got 3 fouls and a technical in 1.5 minutes.
i always thought the main purpose of the bench then was to keep me off the road for a few hours.
