But this is why we all love dtb.

I'm just disappointed that not getting this game has been haunting her for the last three years, yet she got the name wrong. That's a pretty mediocre haunting if you ask me.
Mediocre indeed -- especially given that my 5 year-old couldn't stop talking about this very game just a few months ago. Senility sucks.

I find it funny when partners get excited about that sort of thing (someone in our firm got the best score on the TX Bar exam this year!)*. I thought that doing that well was a sign that you spent too much time studying.

*yes, I have heard some variant of this line on multiple occassions since moving to TX.
You actually know what you got ont he bar exam? They arent all a Pass/Fail deal (except for the multistate)?

That was her brother. I don't remember his name, though.

Shows what you know. There were no brothers.

Apparently in TX people do know, although I never remember receiving my score. They make a big deal out of the person with the top score though and they get to (?) make some speech at the swearing in ceremony for that year. typically the speech begins with something like "I know what you all are thinking - I studied way too hard for this exam..." and then rambles into a story about perseverence, integrity and doing the best that you possibly can...

Nope, thats not wha t I am talking about. The thing I had had a white base, with a black square covering most of it with like, maybe nine? of the colored buttons (three rows of three?). Unless thats Super Simon.

Super Simon was black with two sets of four colored rectangles on it. No white at all.

I was going to ask the same thing. And no one, I repeat, NO ONE, should be proud of studying so hard to receive an A+ on an exam when a B- gives you the exact same result. This is completely irrational. You should study for a B or B+ for buffer-zone purposes. Studying to pass but getting an A+ is fine - at least you had the right mentality (if not the ability to judge the efficiency of your studying).

My thing defniitely was not a simon. Shit, what was it? Obviously some kind of simon ripoff that was much prettier. I dont think it had many primary colors. I remember purple, green, white. and the were squares, not rectagnles.

The article did not name the particular novel, but this brings up an interesting point. If Kirk eats Spock or Spock eats Kirk, is it cannibalism? RT?
