They make a big deal out of the person with the top score though and they get to (?) make some speech at the swearing in ceremony for that year. typically the speech begins with something like "I know what you all are thinking - I studied way too hard for this exam..." and then rambles into a story about perseverence, integrity and doing the best that you possibly can...
Unless they obnoxiously make a point of saying that they only studied for three days before the exam, and even then they had to do it by kerosene lamp after their 12-hour shift on the road construction crew. Though, I'm not sure whether this story is purely for the benefit of coworkers or whether it was actually used in the speech.

They can actually be quite becoming.

Far more so than plaid pants, which, gentlemen, are not.
So open-minded with kilts. Yet, when it comes to plaid pants, you live in such a stifling and narrow reality. Sad.

I now feel like an ungrateful brat because I had some very cool stuff as a kid and am still complaining. Argh. somebody put me out of my misery.

It's called a blow job. You should try getting one sometime; you might like it.

I'm at peace with it. And don't even get me started on the corduroy pants with the little whales embroidered on them. Unless you wear them when you're six.

Uhhh. Fringe? Weren't you the one making a big to-do about people who post *s in the text without referring to anything?

(It's probably me -- whiff, right?)

You're welcome.

Well, you have to admit, it is consistent with your board persona. The fastidiousness. The pursuit of social order. The endearing timmy-ness. Need I go on?

I'd say you get half credit for cannibalism either way, since Spock is half-human.

It was me. I'm nuts.* I don't even know what note I would have put there. Gotta stop drinking at lunch.

*but I went back and fixed it so it looks like you framed me.

My left-coast state has an extremely restrictive policy WRT bar exam scores. You only find out your score if you failed; if you pass, neither you nor anyone else (including states you might otherwise want to waive into) can find out anything other than "P." Ever.

The policy is designed to prevent bar exam scoring from becoming a factor in resumes, job interviews, and client requirements ("I don't want anyone touching my file who got less than 90th percentile." They don't even tell the admittee, because admittee's employer or client will insist that admittee find out and report. Overall, it's a good policy and I'm thankful for it. The profession already has enough butt-sniffing rituals.

I have heard but do not know personally that in some states you can find out your State A bar exam score when you initiate the process of getting your admission recognized in State B, because State B wants to know.

I would think your ribs would be very flexible to allow for you to swallow a buffalo whole and process it thru your reptilian body.

My Dad still wears these. He has several pairs of Christmas-themed pants that he rotates during December. Holly leaves, candles, christmas trees. Is the fashion faux pas lessened by the fact that they are flannel not corduroy?
