 | My left-coast state has an extremely restrictive policy WRT bar exam scores. You only find out your score if you failed; if you pass, neither you nor anyone else (including states you might otherwise want to waive into) can find out anything other than "P." Ever.

The policy is designed to prevent bar exam scoring from becoming a factor in resumes, job interviews, and client requirements ("I don't want anyone touching my file who got less than 90th percentile." They don't even tell the admittee, because admittee's employer or client will insist that admittee find out and report. Overall, it's a good policy and I'm thankful for it. The profession already has enough butt-sniffing rituals.

I have heard but do not know personally that in some states you can find out your State A bar exam score when you initiate the process of getting your admission recognized in State B, because State B wants to know. |
