The red card is about when I posted. Poor SA.

Michael is the best. I saw him from great seats those years we beat him. He was too fast. I can't describe it, but his first step was clearly just too fast for Dumars to handle. Joe did better than anyone else could, but the best defender in the league had no chance.

I saw him play a few times live. A couple times in good seats and more times in not-too-bad seats. He was unbelievably quick. Put a quicker guy on him and he would just rise above him or post him up. And when he lost some of that quickness, he would just fade away. Since he still had lift before he retired the second time, he just couldn't be guarded.

I remember watching Jordan and Pippen in their primes. In one game against the Wolves, I watched them half-ass it on cruise control for 3 1/2 quarters. They were literally going 2/3s speed. They were down 10 with like 6 minutes to play and I was close enough to see Jordan give a look to Pippen that clearly meant, "Turn it on, now." And then they really started playing and just created havoc--forced turnovers, steals, offensive boards, 3 point plays. It was ridiculous. It was like playing against your little kid.

Kobe has some of Jordan's athletic talent and basketball skill, but he doesn't know when to abandon the fade away jump shot in favor of the drive (to get fouled or to dish). The guy shoots way too much, especially when he's missing. And I don't think he knows the game or his teammates well enough to ever be as good as Jordan.

If the two of them had faced each other in the finals, in the deciding game, Kobe would score 36 on 10 of 30 shooting and Jordan would drop 45 on his head on 15 of 28 shooting to win the game.

the only person I've felt sorry for so far is the Brazilian goalie when the DPRK game was nil-nil. if he had let one bounce in and they lost he'd be a dead man.

They're playing North Korea and you feel sorry for anyone on Brazil? I'm sure none of the DPRK players, or their families, face any consequences for a poor showing like, say, a half-family-meal-ration of grubs for the rest of their lives

wanna hear a "funny for patents" Korea story?

there's this treaty which acts as an option to file in up to 100 (actually more) countries. now when you file the application you automatically preserve the right to file in any of them. ten to 20 years ago you had to list the countries you were interested in preserving-

AND North Korea was in the treaty. 99.9999% of US patent filers have no interest in a NK patent (GGG's imaginary clients might which is why I don't say 100%)

but the problem is that North Korea and South Korea don't accept the divide.

So North Korea was/is not called that in the treaty- it's the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. South is the Republic of Korea.

Several instances of malpractice grew from secretaries and lawyers checking the DPRK box instead of the RPK box. and I have have an actual conversatino with one who said "Democratic, that's like us, I figured." (Hi Ty!!)

hmmm. sticking to soccer only, and not base political beliefs, the Dems can hardly be tied to the NKers. The NKers were mainly focused on defense and protecting their goal. I think that makes the NK soccer team a Republican?

When you register with the Cali Bar, they ASK YOU country of origin and I had to google it. it's really easy. Google-fu. Own it. Love it.

there is a funny story at a firm years past. Country of New Mexico, State of Canada. and no, no, not me. :)

I just don't miss patent one bit. not even sure if N korea would be pct or direct foreign filing. I think direct. shudder.

Gah. No thx.

The Swiss coach, earlier today:

Quote:

“We saw how the Americans played against Spain with a lot of interest,” Hitzfeld said. “You know that if you are going to have a chance against [the Spanish] you need to do certain things very well.

“The USA did not try to do everything. They accepted the fact that Spain has pace and width and simply made sure they kept the center of defense as tight as they could. It is not a perfect system, but it was a very interesting tactic and it worked.”

I think Americans are trained to be very statistic oriented in their sports watching. I like the FIFA stats page because it has a lot of information, but that's not where I'd go to find out about the teams that are playing and how well they're doing (though Brazil is fucking unbelievable at the number of passes they make and their completion rate). But if you look at the box score, of say Span vs. Switzerland you don't get much information except the general sense that Spain had the ball most of the time, had a lot of opportunities to score, but Switzerland won. It's very different than last night's Lakers vs Celtics box score that is individual player oriented and whatever game this is from baseball (the MLB site sucks) which is also individual player oriented.

Already owning the theatrical releases and extended editions of each of the films, can I justify buying the new blu ray versions of the Lord of the Rings movies?

We were curious yesterday to figure out who exactly was willing to forego American business to outfit North Korea. After some fits and starts with the pause button in the DVR, we deciphered "Legea" and went to their Wiki.

Italian. Other international clients are:

Albania national football team
Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team
Iran national football team (until 2015)
Montenegro national football team
Zimbabwe national football team
