Dissent. Board mottos tend to make thinking people angry, and are generally insipid. Now think about almost every Shape Shifter post.

Given NFH's apparent retirement, "Muse to the fucktards" is more timely than ever. Sort of keeping with the tribute theme. [sniff]

You can join me. I'm giving notice, selling my place, and going to Europe for four months starting April 27. The theme is the Biggest Parties of Europe tour. Queen's Day in Amsterdam. Running of the Bulls in Spain. World Cup in Germany. Tomatina festival in Spain. Ibiza. Dalmatian Coast in Croatia. Maybe the Cheese Rolling Festival in England or the Wife Carrying Festival in Finland. I'm still playing with the itinerary.

Come home August 31, go to Burning Man, throw myself a big turning 40 party, work a couple months, and then go to Chile and Argentina next winter (their summer) for a few months.
The more I think about it, the more I think that this is one of the more inspired ideas to come out of this board. Maybe ever. What are the other epic partying destinations/events in Europe? I would try to hit a DJ show at Cavo Paradiso, nestled in the cliffs above Paradise Beach on Mykonos. Find a weekend when some popular DJ is there - I think the shows basically go all night. After the show, head down to Paradise Beach in the morning and check out the hottie topless Italian chicks.

Yes, give me more ideas please. With budget airlines all over Europe now - check out http://www.whichbudget.com , I can easily and cheaply flit about. Problem is I have been to Mykonos (and Santorini and Ios), but I have been reading up on the Black Sea coasts of Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Albania, in addition to the Croatian Dalmatian Coast. The Black Sea coast apparently has the all-night rave scene going from June through August too. I'm also considering Ladies Day at Epcot.

Ah. I knew, in your little passive-aggressive way, that it was a dig. "Many." Ha. Nice work! I think the total is now 2? One about the soap opera guy who, it would seem from the story hits on everyone and one about Cabo Wabo. At least you're paying attention, though.
I'm not passive-aggressive; that requires a certain subtlety that is beyond me. My post was overtly but very very mildly snarky. Not even worth the time it took you to write this post.

And it must have been more than 2 because if the Cabo story was only the second, I don't think it would have registered with me.

But there's nothing wrong with a little bragging about your gf. If I had a bf hot enough that random women hit on him on a regular basis, I'd be shouting it from the rooftops (that is, before the alarm clock went off and I had to return to the real world).

The Iceland Airwaves Music Festival is a blast, or at least it was the year I went. That year the format was a little different because the weekend ended with a big concert with Fatboy Slim, the Hives, Blackalicious and others. But it is in October. The Icelandic people like fun, though, and I have to imagine there is some sort of epic party there over the summer. Maybe at the solstice? There are a lot of clubs that stay open until 5 or 6 in the morning, and the music scene is great for such a tiny city.

Keep a journal, take lots of pictures and pitch an article (or series of articles) to one of the plethora of men's magazines on the newstands. That way you could get paid for having all that fun.

I've been told that Iceland chicks are the very sluttiest of the slutty. So that should fit with the general theme, whenever Less goes.

You are the very personification of passive-aggressive, whether you admit it to yourself or not.

That's funny, because I believe it would have.

I'll make sure to remember that there isn't anything wrong with it when I actually do it.

I was otherwise occupied at the time, but if you are willing to buy a few outrageously priced drinks, you will be popular with the locals. Cute Nordic locals who, although possibly slutty, give off an air of chaste purity.

Pictures, smictures. Take lots of penicillin. Those Iceland girls get around, you know.

I, for one, can't wait to see your pitch to Barely Legal. The mag, that is.
