Very effective, though perhaps overkill. My son actually had quite long hair at the time of his infestation last spring, and he requested a buzz 1/3 of the way through the picking process (this was on Mother's Day morning with my husband out of town for a funeral; the two younger kids had both had fevers). Lice hang out close to their food source, and lay their eggs about 1/8" from the scalp (so the nymphs can eat right away), so you'd have to shave to the skin to get rid of everything that way. I cut my son's with a #4 (1/2"), and while it didn't get rid of any of the bugs or eggs, it did make them a lot easier to find and remove.

Your children should be taken away and put in protective custody.

Peroxide - kills the lice and gives your kid a nice cool look.

Coconut oil does not wash out easily. Cetaphill does and is just as bad for the bugs involved. I have not tried the morroccan. For this.

I don't know this Cetaphill, but I can tell you that the chicks dig the affects of the Morroccan oil. Subtle pleasant scent, and gives a nice smooth feel and sheen to the hair.
