Thanks for the props, but I'm in one of my own right now. Plus, Atticus is cheap as shit.

Blame yourself for being too cheap to buy decent scotch.

They're clearly driving people to buy decent scotch at the Clubs that have the Luxury bar, but lots (including Detroit) do not have that. You can't "buy" anything at those.

No, just a sign they have broken Jeff Smisek back. Made him humble.

Never mind. I didn't think there was anything shittier than Dewars but I guess I was wrong.

That was my thought too.

I was recently on Air France and they had no decent scotch. But, on inquiry, I discovered they had an endless free supply of really very good cognac. Sometimes, even we scotch lovers have to adjust to our environment.

Wow. Thanks! They have Remy Louis XIII, but you have to know to ask.

Just think of where you are. Paris - good cognac. Greece - top shelf ouzo. Detroit - finest malt liquor.

Just so you guys know what I am dealing with, lawyers in my office frequently put the following in the front of attorney affirmations

State of New York
County of New York
City of New York

I recently lamented the lack of an economy in Pennsylvania to a friend in NYC. His response: "So move." I pass this wisdom to you now. Because this lack of good scotch in the Detroit airport issue? It's not the worst negative you're going to be facing.

(It's little known, but Scoresby is 40% medical grade - the "rubbing" variety. Excellent emergency exfoliant.)

Bourbon not a summer drink? That's drunk talk.

Bourbon on ice is a year round drink.* Scotch is the whisky you put at the back of bar come April.**
_______
*Basil Hayden's is a great light bourbon for sipping on ice in hot weather.
**About the same time I put away the wool clothes and scotch, I also swap the Floyd and Sabbath mixes out of the iPod in favor of Allmans and Dead. Ozzy's and Roger Waters' voices are intolerable in pleasant weather.

As a direct result of San Francisco County's borders being coterminous with those of the City of San Francisco, a select group of saps such as myself are required to deal with statutes that read "a city, a county, or a city and county . . . ." Would it kill the legislature to just write "everyone plus San Francisco"?

Step 1: Grant half and deny half of the defendant's motions in limine without prejudice to a later trial objection.
Step 2: Note that the denial of these motions has "expanded" (?!?!) the issues potentially subject to testimony, and ruefully observe that the two-day trial estimate probably won't be enough for the parties to put in testimonial evidence.
Step 3: Continue to December with a four-day estimate.

Did I mention this case was filed in 2005?
