maybe a good first step would be for you to stop using words that make me have to get out a dictionary?

Flower, what is the Approved Opinion on Fun? (Uh, the band, not the adjective.). I quite like this little ditty, despite/because of the Queen-ish (the band, not the monarch) chorus. Seems like a good song to listen to while drinking mojitos in the backyard.

Just no, Not Bob. And no for Not Not Bob as well. For fuck's sake, no.

In the privacy of his own home, David Boies wears bespoke Saville Row suits and a monocle.

Gawd aweful, unlistenable crap. Came off as pretentious idiots on Colbert too, and really, really sucked playing live on his program.

So if you like bad "music" played by "musicians" who can't play and a singer who can't sing, they're all yours.

Okay, so I'm a little touchy about the absolute crap that is current pop music.

If you must indulge in pretentious cute music, Vampire Weekend is still the gold standard. Modern Vampires of the City is excellent. If you like the anthemic sound of Fun, Not Bob, spend $.99 on VP's "Unbelievers." They do it 50X better.

this is like saying "if you must drink $13 a bottle scotch, Scoreby is really nice." Why the fuck do we let NotBob listen to what he listens to? This is on all of us.

His best look was still Ziggy Stardust.

I enjoy the Vampire Weekend. I just realize that to many people, they're precious little songwriters for self-congratulatory listeners with English degrees from Cornell.

But yes, I am in favor of forcibly compelling NotBob to listen to music selections of our choosing rather than his own.

We don't have to force him, we just need to get the Betties to mock his choices and suggest alternatives.

I (mostly) like VW. I once read a review that described them as being "stridently preppy," which I thought was pretty accurate.

Not Bob, the name of the band is "Fun.". That innocuous little punctuation mark appended to the band name makes me want to drive my fist through the lead singer's face. I might not feel so strongly about it if I did not despise their music. But I do despise their music. Or at least I despise that "We Are Young" song and the little number you linked us to, which is all I know of them. But I am going to disagree with Hank and say that if you like them you should listen to them. But maybe just in private, and certainly not around other adults.
