I think P.C. footnoted you as an example of a geek who is not a patent lawyer. I belive your Ahnuld example withstood P.C.'s scrutiny better than all other Bilmore/Mat/Tree examples.

So....that joke went right on over your head huh?

Thought the Ahnuld one was hilarious.

"You better not be calling me a patent lawyer" seems like a perfectly sensible sentiment. I just wish I could find a smilie showing me ducking.

Right, cause I was expressing preference for being called a geek. See it isn't funny when you have to explain it.

I did think Ahnuld was one of my better ones, but you know I can't take credit, I really did happen to turn on the TV as I was reading the question and there was Ahnuld, walking in a circle.

It was as if God created the answer for me.

Yeah, that's why it wasn't funny.

If these are european hoes then I think it's body odour that you are smelling. But $1MM would certainly buy a lot of Right Guard.

Not what I expected

I think someone pointed me to the wrong group. I heard this was the place for music, sex and boogie. If the Cap here wanted a physics lesson, he would have gone to the batting range instead.

Where is the one-on-one fun?

the Captain.

There is no god.

But, that was a very nice answer. One that more than rewards me for posing a physics poll on a weekend.

You are simply better than you give yourself credit for. Stop trying to lay off credit on some horseradish-induced bad dream.

Horseradish?

Yes, it was a better answer than you deserved for posting a physics poll on a weekend. However I believe in God, though I do not believe that was the source of the answer. That I must concede came from my twisted yet gifted brain.

By the by, we had the visit from the Phelps clan this weekend in the 'burg. I don't think Phelps himself was there and I didn't see the protestors themselves, they were a good distance from where I was located. Fortunately we managed to organize a unity day and some silent witnesses. The unity day attracted most people and the silent witnesses blocked the view of the protestors. This avoided people screaming at each other and any potential for violence.

It was something though, the city had all sorts of cops, bomb sniffing dogs, helicopters and rumor had it snipers.

It was amazing.

Hey, YOU come up with that much conversation on a simple "there's no such thing as . . . " post. I dare ya'.

You will never get a concession from me on one. Certainly on the second, but . . .

Do NOT take these people lightly. Please. You can think you're having a conversation about morality, while they're busy trying to fight satan. You can do a lot of really irrational things when you're trying to fight satan. You can kill people and still feel good about it. Religion inspires that kind of no-mind shit. Stay home.

Gawd sucks. Gawdlovers suck. And they kill while they're sucking - see 9/11 - so take them seriously.

leagleaze 09-28-2003 10:54 PM

I don't take them lightly. Believe me. Certainly it is easier to stay home, but to allow such hatred to go without any response solves nothing. I'm not about to hide my head in the sand for fear of a maniac. I'd much prefer to stand up and be counted against them when it comes down to it. Does this make my friends and family worry for my safety? You bet. Do they try to talk me out of it? Not on your life. They support me and tell me to please be careful. Which I am.

I am aware of the risks. I do whatever I can to minimize them. And should something happen to me because I have chosen to do what I do, so be it.

In this case we took every precaution possible. We had the cooperation of the police, we had a separate location for those who would most likely have engaged the Phelps clan, and we had individuals trained in silent protest to deal with the protestors themselves. I personally never saw them, well until just now on the local news. It would seem they don't only hate fags, but thank god for september 11th. I bet that wins them fans.

Regardless, we had a peaceful and successful day. We didn't invite Phelps to visit, he chose to do so because of a movie a youth group was showing. We weren't about to cancel a fundraiser just because he decided to bring his so called message to our city.

Thank you.

Sometimes I worry.
