I ran my first 5K in 45 mins. better than expected but massive room for improvement needed.

Walking at a moderate pace is about 13-16 minutes per mile. Congrats on your walk.

This is Penske.

Or running three 8 minute miles and stopping for 20 minutes to have a beer.

but people I consider fast did the 5K in 1/2 hour. is it that bad? I was running, did not stop to walk and there were a ton of walkers--15 thousand people or at least over the 2 days. beer was after.

Just for fun, I Googled "5K Results" and saw a Minnesota race, so looked that up. Northern Minnesota, so not a ton of participants. Out of 267 women in the race, you would have come in 268th. Possibly 267th. The last place woman was 45 minutes. Second to last place was 43 minutes. Top women were about 17 or 18 minutes. The "fast" people you know who finished in 30 minutes would have finished in the lower half of women.

oof. flamin' fridays, indeed.

I never said I was fast. Just said I completed the Chase CC and I did not stop to walk. As in, 4 years ago I could have never even completed it unless I walked.

It's a determined stroll. It is a purposefule stride. It's an appropriate speed in an airport, shopping center, or on a sidewalk.

I think you're really trying to show that Minnesotans are a superior breed.

Should I deepen my relationship with the Cult of Jobs?

It's that time to get a new home computer. I'm trying to decide whether to make a leap to Apple or not. If I do get a Mac desktop, can I use the Acer monitor that I have for my PC with the Mac? Can I use my HP all in one printer/fax/scanner with the Mac? How well does Citrix work with a Mac? I know, I know, I could Google that myself, but I would like to hear first hand experience with those of you using Macs at home.
