 A Minor Dilemma Quote:
Between the two W's, I'd go with Lakeshore, especially on the weekend and for non-business travel. The City Center location is way down in the loop, and it's kind of dead down there on weekends. The action moves up to Michigan Avenue then, and the W Lakeshore is much closer. As for other hotels in the area, the high-rent district has some of the best hotels in the country, with the Park Hyatt, the Four Seasons, the Ritz-Carlton and the newer Peninsula. Each of the last three has been ranked by prominent reviewers (i.e. Conde Nast, etc.) as the best hotel in the country, period. Others that I've stayed at which are nice are the Intercontinental, the Hyatt, the Renaissance... As for the Hotel Burnham, it was completed in 1895, so it probably wasn't under construction during the Fire of 1871. It is one of only a handful of Daniel Burnham's buildings to survive to this day. |

 Poll of the Morning Quote:
Let's have a poll, where should Penske stay will be the subject. Serious replies only, its got be cush, my candy-ass demands no less. And skip the Four Seasons. While an excellent choice, I think I will take the money differential between the Four Seasons and one of the lesser luxury places and roll into my hookers and booze budget. I will be in a meeting for a couple of hours and will check back then for the results. Vote early and often (this is a Chicago poll so socks are allowed to vote too!!!) Merci. |
