You're welcome.

Right. Chicks aren't as cool as guys so they can't have the cold salt water smoothie you'd get.

Should I take time to shave my legs? I need a dress, sure, but can I pull it off with a hat or must I find a wig below deck somewhere? Some of you who've met me, do I need to alter the body too?

Did you watch the movie? Shaving is something that just isn't done.

I was responding to the "IPAs are better than pilsners", "no they aren't" portion of the argument.

Your illustration isn't even an argument.

ETA: Your illustration is like arguing whether posts like this are worse than TM's boobies-of-the-day posts.

Exactly. Red.

Comments on multiple threads:

1. We live in a Golden Age of Beer. When I was a struggling student beer was a commodity to be purchased with a maximum consideration given to cost, and quantity. And, way back then, choices were very limited. Now any quaffer can find any beer, in any style, anywhere, for a reasonable price. I grant you that the stuff made in vast quantities is literally the same price as water. And tastes like it. Except for the summertime Corona and lime, the craft beer movement is a great gift. Embrace it.

2. True story: I had a relative on the Titanic. Scandal ensued as his widow was unable to collect his body and the belongings he had on his person, because the manifest listed the French actress he was travelling with as his spouse. Neither he nor I could have pulled off the "put on a dress" ruse as we are, in the words of an old college drinking song, from a race of hairy chested men. Some of the ruder members of my swim club refer to me as "Silverback."

3. A serious note. Suicide. My sympathies to RT. I rejoined this Board a few years ago for the sole purpose of telling another poster this: It gets better. My daughter suffered through her husband's horrific death. In the years since, I get tears in my eyes just thinking about how she didn't let this defeat her. She is one tough cookie, and she is advancing professionally and personally at an accelerating rate. It gets better. Honest.

So drink good beer, take a cruise, remember the best of times with the too soon departed, and, of course,

Save Ferrets.

Sorry. It was kind of a homage to Paigow, who we all know loved that dude. Plus it's been established that I have bad taste in music* and beer.

Anyway, it's nice to know someone still reads the re lines. Thank you.

*Not really a Crowes fan, but just never had the hate for them (or DMB, for that matter) that people whose musical taste I respect seem to express with relish. Maybe because I am an Old? They were not the music of my high school or college years.

You're mistaking the Crows one counts with the Crowes that play listenable music.

Thanks to these boards I'm in a position to appreciate an obscure reference now and again.

Beater Bike

I need a beater bike to ride to the train station. Should I assume that anyone selling multiple used bikes on craigslist obtained them illegitimately?

I concede your analysis, but I find your interpretation of it to be very cynical. I would call it selfish, but that I suppose is the whole point. We are social creatures. I believe "slaves" to each other is the way you put it. The ability to find comfort in each other carries with it the responsibility to care for each other.

The night is dark and full of terrors.
