I went to a real life law school in Massachusetts. I did not take the Massachusetts bar, nor am I licensed to practice in Massachusetts.

What does the location of the virtual law school have to do with taking a state bar exam?

Most states require a degree from an ABA-accredited law school to take the exam. I believe MA allows for grads of state-accredited law schools, and NY allows foreigners w/ US LLMs, but only CA allows any sucker with cash for the registration fees to take the exam (or has CA banned self-study?).

so far Sidd has been gone, but let's be careful of making fun on online schools just in case he shows?

So, she goes to online law school, presumably gets admitted to the California bar (which is a stretch, in and of itself) and then still can't practice where she lives?

This plan is beyond dumb, even for her.

A challenging problem, yes. I'm assuming some sort of complicated reciprocity strategy is in place.

Have you seen all those ads for Gold based investments lately? To work in a job as precarious as yours (oh, yes it is) and spend money on dumb status shit like Benzes is already criminally fucking stupid. To spend it on something as preposterous as an online law degree, and then take a bar in a state 3000 miles away is... Fuck. I can't even come up with the word.

Stop. Now. You're not enhancing your value. You're pissing money down the drain. You'd do better to take it out of the bank in ones, ball it up and burn it for heat this winter.

You'll see these lines on resume someday. Right around the same time you'll see "Pope: It's All a Farce. No God. We Just Like Wearing Ornate Smocks." on the cover of the Daily News.

So, with very little effort, I found a resume that currently reads:

University of Phoenix
MBA Technology Management (online program)

Princeton University
MA Politics

Stanford University
BA Political Science

I guess the apocalypse is already upon us.

I like to play on-line Suduko. Can I add another degree for that?

I just don't get it. I am enjoying learning. phoning it in a bit since it is busy but I really enjoy being back in school. I'm not going to light the world on fire but life is to be enjoyed. I like Mercs. It would not bring enjoyment to drive a toyota.

You're an absolute fucking idiot. Not deluded, not confused... Just card-carrying dumber-than-dogshit stupid. You should have a huge dayglow sign fastened to skull: "Imbecile."

I don't pick on you because I see no use in it, but this debate is just fucking ridiculous. What do you think? Everyone here is lying to you? These people come from various legal backgrounds and work in varied structures. You think two examples of friends of yours - both of whom went to accredited brick and mortar schools - form a rebuttal?

Ask any lawyer you work with whether your plan makes economic sense. You won't find a single honest response supporting your decision.

Why do all you naysayers insist on trying to take money out of the pockets of the State Bar of California? Times are tough out here! Think of PPNYC as our little stimulus package.
