No, although I did love the show. Sinclair was an oil company that disappeared in the 70s and their mascot was this kelly green dinosaur. The stations regularly gave away blow-up versions. With no front or rear entry.

Which explains why the last name of the dinos in the Disney show was Sinclair. Brilliant. I googled it and am now reading all about the Sinclair oil company. I never knew. This could be a Jeopardy or Trivial Pursuit question someday. There is no limit to what a person can learn here -- and I don't mean that sarcastically.

I'm pretty sure that "where's the beef" will be remembered, if at all, as Mondale's great debate line, not as the ad line uttered by that aged lady in the Wendy's ads. (if she's a cultural icon).

I think the Superfriends are pretty much gone, as an entity. Now we just have Superman vs. Batman, or whatever that battle is.

I keep thinking The Hulkster will disappear, but then he becomes world champion of "wrestling" again. The Iron Shiek and his tag team buddy (it's not Boris Karloff, but something like that) are definitely gone, as is the Macho Man, Randy Savage.

It's Nikolai Volkoff. But for my money, I'll take everyone's favorite intercontinental champion Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and his signature move, the figure-four leglock.

To answer the poll, I'll go with Hungry Hungry Hippos. But I had a Hamburglar T-shirt back in law school and I plum wore it out. Best T-shirt I ever had. Better even than my "All your base" and "Tintin" shirts.

I seem to remember these, too, but the site says the trading cards were not issued in the US until 1985. That would make YOU something like 25 (boy genius?) and me, well, maybe I just ate too much acid flavor ice cream while making free love in the 70's.

There was a DVD of the Battlestar Galactica pilot episodes put out a few years ago. It's available on Amazon but the quality doesn't look to be very good. A quick search of a couple of fansites seems to suggest that the new set will be 8 DVD's (apparently all 22 episodes that aired), will retail for $99 and will be out in time for Christmas.

Interesting note I picked up from one site... the show was a top 25 rated series in 1978 but was cancelled the next year because of the then-high production costs of $1 million an episode... These days $1 million doesn't even buy one of the "Friends" for a half-hour episode.

Given that they have put 10 classic atari games in a joystick, for about $20, methinks that $20 isn't exactly a technology-cost-adjusted price.

I don't recall those ads, but I do remember most of the morality lessons given to me by Davy and Goliath. That had to be one of first forays into claymation.

Speaking of claymation makes me think of Mr. Bill which makes me think of when SNL was good -- the 70s and early 80s

Agreed on Land of the Lost (I can hear the theme right now in my head) and Encyclopedia Brown. I was also a big fan of Clue (the board game). Lost in Space was also great. I liked the Laff-a-Lympics a lot. The evil cheater team never won, despite coming up with some great dasterdly plans...
