2. Sucks as a phone; great as an everything-else. I can't live without it, but I'd be lying if I said I hadn't entertained intrusive thoughts about throwing it against a wall.

People seem to like the Droid, but I haven't seen one yet. Mr. Man's co-worker has one and he thought it was an improvement over the blackberries, at least.

AT&T is fucking ridiculous. Awful. I was appalled by the coverage in LA (and California generally) until I took the thing to Wisconsin and discovered there is absolutely zero 3G coverage in the entire state. I don't know how they get away with it. Seriously. How long have they had the contract and they've done nothing to improve the network?? Pathetic. The "there's a map for that" Verizon campaign seemed cheesy to me at first, but it is actually genius. Makes me mad at AT&T every single time I see one of those ads.

But I am quite attached to the iPhone. In particular, to the Bejeweled 2 app.

I think that's three times more Tuesday posts from you than from e/o. Hmm.

I read today that AT&T is suing Verizon over those ads.

And embarassing themselves doing so. ATT claims that the ads mislead people to think that ATT's data coverage, including non-3g, is that limited, even tho VZW only discusses 3G coverage, which ATT admits are accurately shown in the ad.

The test will be if Verizons 3g network can handle huge data traffic.

Fix your fucking network instead of complaining that your competitor is pointing out how bad it sucks. Jesus. I hope they rack up massive ridiculous litigation costs that they have no hope of paying back once iPhone users are allowed to shop other networks. Verizon, I miss you man.

No doubt. BTW, I recently upgraded from a 1st gen iPhone to the 3GS and was astonished by the battery drain of leaving 3G turned on. I used to be able to go days between charges; no longer. I'm a slow learner, but now I know if I'm travelling I tend to turn off 3G unless I specifically want to access data and I'm just checking whether a 3G network is available.

It's not all bad news, though. The browser speed is very good and the camera is downright decent, considering. And I continue to find that almost always, yes, there is an app for that.
