Having that level of intelligence makes it impossible to avoid self-awareness of how annoying one is to others. For some, that can be a significant problem.

Your small-minded sniping at this generous and tolerant soul is, in a word, disgustitating. Leave now in disgrace and come back when you can write something as simultaneously life-affirming, thought-provoking and grammatically mysterious as this:

people expect too much and you can't deliver always. gift and curse. but it has helped me generally speaking
Which, of course, will be never.

I think my life as a suffering super-genius has just been changed completely. Is there a book by this person I can buy?

She was mumbling something about 2-dimensional scalar turbulence, weak turbulence, etc.

I'm like, "where is your car?"

she laughs, and admits she has no idea. I couldn't help because I was drunk when we got there, and worse by then:(:(

Maybe he means "The Cambridgeside Galleria" but I don't think there is a chili's there.

And why go there, for Chili's, in her car, when the Border Cafe provides slightly less inauthentic tex-mex right in Harvard Square? I call shenanigans. And, if not, we know why things never worked out between Hank and Eva.

ETA: I assume he means Cambridgeside Galleria, although back then I think it was known as Lechmere and not much else was around. Conveniently located near the Museum of Science, so Hank could impress her after dinner with his explanation of why the feathers fall just as fast as the baseball in the vacuum tube.

No she flew her own way because she wanted to do some archery in Australia anyway.

I know little to nothing about archery, but it does not take a 147 IQ to know that narrowly missing qualifying for the U.S. Olympic team in anything is an accomplishment far superior to finishing in the bottom half of a race geared toward beginner runners. But once again, I will give ppnyc my little pep talk so she does not misconstrue this post as discouragement and eat like sixty cupcakes and stop working out.

Dear ppnyc,

Unless your hockey playing friend was deliberately running at a slow pace, he is not in top shape, at least when it comes to running. Nobody, except the delusional, believes that 10 minute miles over a three mile race is anywhere close to top shape. And I'll be candid, because I care: your 15 minute mile pace is somewhere in the range of surprisingly to shockingly slow. But this just means you have so much room for improvement! So you just keep on keepin' on. Keep your eyes on the prize. You go, girl! :):D:);)

oh dear, I think I understand, in weight lifting you want to increase your numbers, but not in running.

Because Hank was so drunk that he couldn't remember what restaurant they were at or what mall they went to and still wanted to drive?

True story. Back in the day, I was at the Hong Kong having dinner with a very bright young lass - I bet she was at least a 150, maybe a 160. Anyways, after dinner, she couldn't remember what dorm she lived in. I'll bet she's either a brain surgeon or a supermodel today.

If you really want to be technical about it, there was until fairly recently a Chili's in Cambridge. It was in Harvard Square, on the Watertown side of Mount Auburn Street (i.e., walking distance from Pennypacker). As far as I know, it was the only representative of this particular chain in the PRC.

Maybe Hank is a Russian spy.

Finally, I fucking hate Border Cafe. The one in Saugus is even worse.

Sounds like the true story is that early in the year you found some freshman, promised her "dinner" at the Hong Kong, and then offered up a Scorpion Bowl to start, and then took her to the Widener stacks for a "study" session. Classy.
