Absinthe Cocktail for Sale in Britain

Deco is not the cocktail of Summer 2003. Absinthe is archaically now a cultural relic of Moulin Rouge, anyway. The image of John Leguizamo should not be associated with any type of drinking experience. This association would prove to be very displeasing.

This summer, think Pisco Sour.

It is widely known (at least in New York, Minnesota and Austin) that in a move to wipe the nasty piece of liquid hype known as the mojito off the face of cocktail culture, you should shirk the mojito and drink only the Pisco Sour.

If any person has told you otherwise, then that person is a Baz Luhrmann-loving, mojito-swilling liar.

Oh. My. God. It's like space aliens abducted Atticus, spent days back on their planet examining every inch of him with sophisticated probes, and gave us a little replica of him. It's uncanny.

I would try to find a salon that does an epicuren facial in your neck of the woods. And give me feedback. You are my product hero.
Here is the link to the website that describes the products and has a salon finder. If you get the facial, watch out for the cinnamon peel. Feels like Your face is covered in red hots. Yet amazingly, its a peel that wont burn the skin. http://www.epicuren.com

Atticus, maybe I've been spoiled by Ty and Burger, but every time you underline something in a post, I think it's a link, and am disappointed when I double click on the chosen word and nothing happens. Although in the last instance, it's probably for the better, considering that my boss was just in my office.

Excellent. And now a little rant about the Stanley Cup.

1. Hockey may be a lot of things, but I never saw it as cheezy. ABC's coverage is Cheesy with a capital C. Who is Sam Ryan and is there any hockey fan out there that gives a shit what Jean-Sebastien Gigeure's fiancee has to say about anything? Maybe flash the camera on her for a second because she's pretty, but an interview? Who cares - this is the fucking Stanley cup for god's sake, not the superbowl.

2. Those were two of the softest goals I have ever seen. I think I could have stopped one of them. Go ducks.

Welcome to network coverage of any sport. They have to fluff it up for the not-greatwhitenorth chicks, or something. They've ruined the olympics and baseball that way as well. Now it's hockey's turn.

1. There's a restaurant named "Tryst" in DC? Wow. I'll have to check it out the next time I'm in town for a deposi..., um ah, forget that.

2. That was quite a video back in the day. A local judge denied a motion by the First Godly Christian Church of Podunkville, Inc. for an injunction prohibiting the local cable company from airing MTV because of that video.

The judge did take a suspiciously long time reviewing the evidence in chambers, now that I think about it.

Maybe I've been spoiled by your not-uncommonly-timmyesque posts, but when you quoted Atticus's post above, I was sure you were going to point out that he didn't include the hyphen between "medium" and "sized," since he surely didn't mean to say that he prefers brunettes with tits that are both medium and sized. I was so disappointed.

Blame the ABC suits. Sam is a cutie, but her interviews with Adam Oates' father, Jiggy's brother, and Scott Stevens' clan were a huge waste of time. And do we need to see *any* shots of Michael Eisner cheering? (I'm sure that it's merely a co-inky-dink that King Michael owns Disney which owns ABC which paid the camera people who had their lenses focused on him) And what's with all the shots of Jim Fucking Belushi? Argh. I guess we should be thankful that the ESPN games weren't full of the same nonsense. Emilio Estevez movie clips, indeed.

And don't get me started on the funky camera angles -- if I wanted to see the game from the ceiling, I would buy cheap seats. Save those angles for replays when they show the way the play developed or a penalty or something.

Thank God for the soft goals (though I'd call Sandis's goal a fluke, not soft -- unless you were talking about the game winner and the other one?). I assume that the hated Devils will still win the Cup, but at least it won't be a sweep.

Can you explain the hockey-mullet-hair then? And shaving off the sideburns? I don't get it. And both of those things (god forbid they combine the two looks) are cheesy as hell.

I would agree if you said the braids on basketball players are cheesy too, but it's a different kind of cheese. Hockey hair is to Hoops hair as Cheeze Wiz is to American?

Hockey on TV is all about the camera angles. The CBC has hockey camera angles down to an art form, so that you don't notice the camera - you just see the game. I have no idea why the American networks don't just emulate that, instead of all this funky shit.

Interviews with family, humanizing the hockey players and Emilio Estevez clips are no way to attract female viewers (if that is what they are trying to do - I see no other explanation). Less talk, more highlight reels of great playoff hits or goals,if they need to fill space. Women want to see sweaty players, not other women. (perhaps I speak only for this woman, but I doubt it).

Just love those "up close and personal" segments. Jim McKay has contributed so much to American sportscasting hasn't he? All we need now is Leroy Neiman creating one of his blinding sports paintings between periods.

Can we outlaw the TV timeout?? Thank goodness soccer won't allow it.

I was reading the Salon recap on Six Feet and it said someting about Russell being obviously gay. The charcter did not sound my gaydar. Anyone else agree with Salon?

That episode gave me the most horrific nightmare about being shot in the head multiple times. It was so creeeeeeepy.

Did anyone watch Out of Order? I started it, found it a bit cutesy like in an Ally McBeal kind of way, but that may be the effect of watching after Six feet. Worth trying again?

The 2003 Giro ended with the biggest margin of victory in 30 years, but with the race for second place coming down to 5 seconds in a very exciting time trial.

I tried to find a picture with the winner Gilberto Simoni standing with podium girls (I must not have the same access as Penske).

This is (Super) Mario Cippolini receiving a medal for setting the record for most stage wins in the Giro d'Italia, with a podium girl standing behind him. He's too attractive to not include:

Apparently, he didn't go home to Germany, so he couldn't get fat in the off-season.

Bianchi is riding races in a neutral kit, so I hope they will have it together by the start of the tour. I wonder if they will wear that Bianchi seafoam green.

Having Jan there should be very exciting, though losing Beltran to Postal will not help him on the mountains. Still Bianchi should be pretty strong.

Over the past couple of months, as the stock market has been rising, so has the volume of my work. Although I do not directly work in the securities / finance area, I think it's a good sign of things to come. But, I wonder if others are as busy as I am.

So, what of it? Are y'all busier these days then you were, say, six months ago? If so, are you buying stock? I'm about ready to jump back into the market in a big way.

Seven, this is weird. Three possibilities: (1) everybody is busier these days, and suddenly so this afternoon, (2) everybody is trying to look busy, to be like you, or (3) everybody is at schwab.com.
