This is true. You almost never hire in the fall and a lot of firms have already trimmed their staff levels to run leaner.

I wonder what their other expectation are? We expect you to arrive late, leave early and have a generally crappy attitude. We also expect you to drink heavily at lunch. :)

I haven't spent much time trying to understand the law, but it seems like they're saying "since we have to pay you for the next 60 days, we expect you to do some work during that period."
