Here's the brewery:

i think it is "born in the land of sky blue waters..." you need to see what it looked like before the factory got built.

It is really really awful beer. And not in a Natural Lite way (which just tastes like water).

where is Thurgreed and Gwnc and Ironweed. Is it possible the big new york firms have started sacrificing business associates to calm the banking gods?

I have never tried it, but Mr Man claims that Hamms tastes good at the brewery because they serve it fresh and without the preservatives, etc. Wisconsin types are big on the brewery tours, I have found.

The Emmy Awards

Worst Emmy awards telecast ever. When Jimmy Kimmel gives you needed and accurate comedic criticism, you know you're in trouble.

The Academy actually did a good job with the voting this year. To wit:
  1. 30 Rock
  2. Tina Fey for writing and acting
  3. Alec Baldwin
  4. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
  5. The Colbert Report for Writing
  6. Bryan Cranston for Breaking Bad
  7. Mad Men for writing and best show
  8. Don Rickles

Of course, no mention of the Emmys can be made without the obligatory, they screwed over The Wire note, but with that glaring omission, a good job overall.

Submitted for your consideration:

Next year's hosts: Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey

Next year's presenter for something, anything: Christina Hendricks

There's your best costume design right there.

I totally thought it was one of dtb's socks. YMMV.

But this girl just looked like a stripper. And not b/c she wore stripper make-up or even dressed sluttily. You could put her in a (non-sexy) librarian's outfit, and she still would look like a stripper. I think it was her lips. Giant DSLs.

Perhaps I am naive, but I just cannot picture dtb engaging in socking.

And, like SAM, I read the Randian sock as being a drive-by visit from Penske, NTTAWWT.

Beautiful Lawyers. (Theoretically.)

Boston area lawyers pose for calendar, proceeds to charity. The calendar isn't yet available online, but the article suggests that noone's naked. Given that, I'm not sure how they think anyone other than the attorneys and their moms will buy the damned things.

Aren't the firms going to be on the hook for at least a few dozen copies each? Of course, it's always going to be March at Ropes & Gray.

I have nothing to add to whether DTB would sock or not sock, but if she were to sock (hypothetically speaking), I don't think she could bring herself to post something with typos in it.

I tuned in at the end to see best drama and she was on her way up to the stage with the rest of the crew. She is a very attractive woman. But that photo is flattering. Is she pregnant? Because she looked even bigger than she does on the show. And I don't remember her boobs being that huge in the first season.

There is pretty much nothing that I like about that dress and I don't think it is flattering on her at all (but I'll go on record that I don't really understand the redhead with alabaster skin/dark green dress combo, though people other than me tend to like that combination).

Ok, I'm going to try my hand at a fashion comment after all these years:

Somewhere, a Marie Callender's is missing its drapes. Perhaps several sets.

Hmm. I quite like it.

But I am wearing purple and coral pink together today, so ymmv.

the color combo is wonderfully attractive. Thurgreed, I wouldn't doubt she is getting some padding. The whole "girl who would be consider a bit sloppy now, but was the hottest build then" thing is maybe being pushed to its edge a little?

maybe I'm too formal for today's office, but pit hair showing means you're wearing off the shoulder after labor day. no. no.

I like all sorts of red or pink combos for redheads far better than dark green. I may just be biased against the color generally, or maybe because the combo is pretty overdone (and to me a bit dated). I couldn't really tell you who I would like in that forest green color, but especially not redheads.

Purple and coral could look quite nice. Sounds rather Pucci.

Sexy!

As a side note, one of the moms of a kid on my daughter's lacrosse team has unshaven pits and apparently likes the natural swell of rotting sewage to emanate from under said pits. Boo tank tops.

Are you saying they padded her for the rewards show or are you implying that she gained weight for the role? It's hard to tell since you rarely make any sense.

if she were wearing padding for the show, as say, peggy did last year, she might well wear it for the awards show. or maybe she is just juicy.

I have a dress that color with a similarly plunging neckline that I quite like a lot. It's the dress I tend to wear to night time weddings. My coloring is quite different though.

Age has nothing to do with it. I recognize all of them, unfortunately.

I even know all the names of the Jonas Brothers thanks to my neices. And on Saturday, while shopping in Staples (exciting weekend!*), I recognized a Miley Cyrus song on the store music. My life is not any better for it.

*then the new, non-stinky dildo arrived in the mail. Yay! The weekend took a turn for the better after that.
