Vacating the wins as to the whole team is stupid, and will never actually work. If anything, it will do exactly the opposite of what's intended. As far as I'm concerned, and millions of others will forever be, those PSU teams own those wins. The only person who loses them is the guy who deserves to lose them: Paterno.

You can't take the achievements of the athletes away. Sports fans remember, and always will. (See: Pete Rose HOF ban).

Sports records mean less and less, with the various retroactive changes, or ones that should be (hi Barry Bonds and Chinese gymnasts!). Maris got an asterisk, but now it should stand not for 8 extra games but the most home runs by a non-juicer. By the end of next year, 9 of the last 14 winners will be someone other than the person who came in first at the end of the race, and 13 of the last 17 will have been dopers. Countless results from the Olympics have been revised, sometimes several times, years after the fact as doping comes to light. What's the point in transferring the record from a guy who didn't report child abusers to a guy whose players were ensnared in a wide variety of recruiting, benefits, and academic scandals (including that cost Bowden 12 wins)?

translation: I support the Pope and all of his decisions.

just trickin b.

But the silence left the rapist's face on a mural of PSU's most special people outside the student center- say you were 10, would the face being up there say to you that maybe what he is doing is okay?

so some other fuck whose misdeeds are more mundane benefits. ok, but that is fall out from a screwed up situation.

I could point out that you are retreating from your argument now you see the gross over-reaching of your statements, or I could point out that some (e.g., Thurgreed) believe that the wins were, in fact, tainted. But I don't want to hold you back from your talking and your talking, because it's magic and it's precious. It's precious magic. Every. Single. Word.

No way Paterno recruits as well as he did if it got out that he let someone he knew was a pedophile continue to use the PSU athletic facilities for personal purposes. So, stop.

I don't understand how they thought it would never come out and that they didn't realize when it did come out they'd look 10 times worse for covering it up. Hadn't they been paying attention to the priest abuse cases? Did they think he'd somehow magically stop being a pedophile?

I can't give it away on Seventh Avenue.

Neither one is a boutique, but I've stayed at the Marriott Financial Center and the Millenium Hilton. Both of them are downtown and close to subways to Brooklyn.

Oh, and walk the Brooklyn Bridge (but don't buy it) and wait in line for a coal oven baked pie at Grimaldi's, then stroll along the promenade in Brooklyn Heights. (Yes, I am a tourist.)

Boutique Downtown: Wall Street Inn 9 S. Williams St.

Brooklyn digs: Try Concord Village, corner of Adams and Tillary, JUST at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge, opposite the EDNY Courthiouse, which was rental when I lived there in the stone age but is co-op or condo now; rentals or purchase are both probably available.

Yours in urban living,
Ferrets

NOT SAFE FOR WORK

Brenda DeNaut was the mother of the Arquette girls- she looks a bit like Patricia. she was also an "exotic" model and dancer. When Wonk was young she was stroke material.
