Cross-Post From the Death Pool Board

For those that are not in the death pool who might care to mourn with me (Sebby):

My extacy and shroom dealer died last weekend. The cause of death wasn't reported, and his profession is not in his obituary. He had Hepatitis C, took a lot of pain pills, and looked like ass, but he had looked that way for at least 8 years. He was a really warm and funny aging hippy in the Haight, and he always threw in some free mushroom chocolates with my X.

This is the most tragic death in my life since my grandmother. Is it inappropriate to go to his memorial on Saturday to look for his replacement? And to find out who is going to get all his porn?

Less finally sheds a tear on something other than a Cal Bears loss or a wrongly-decided-but-soon-to-be-overturned-9th Circuit En Banc opinion...

....and it's over the chocolate 'shroom* guy.

[Slave shakes head]

*They were very good, I dare say.

Dude, I've seen the chocolate, but never got to partake. Less, my heart goes out to you.

Oh, and the Old 97s still kick ass live. Looks like August before they hit SF; go when they do.

Oh, and for the NYC crew, Chicago, and even Hankland, no excuses; this is a great rawk and roll band.

Flower, you can make the North Dakota show, right?

Ugh. If there's one thing I can't stand, it's this kind of tear-stained, cloying sentimentality.

I have had a sore throat all week and have not been able to enjoy wine or much of anything else.

That's a tragic. Truly likeable, warm people are hard to find in that profession. Usually, you just tap your foot on the floor and listen to some dumb rambling for half an hour, offering the obligatory responses and appropriately placed guffaws to feign giving a fuck about the set list at the last Phish show he saw.*

"Really? Tweezer Reprise? No shit... That is amazing."

I say, for a good egg like you've described, pay a quick visit. I doubt it'll be hard to meet to the new guy in charge. He'll probably spot you in five minutes and make the introduction himself.

*Exception: for a time many years back, I got things from a lesbian couple who were very cute. Little, and crunchy, like a pair of hippie Olson twins.

The psilocybin is blended into the chocolate? Or are they just chocolate covered caps?

BTW, I've likely said it before, but this is the shit: https://www.thevolcanovaporizer.com/ Added plus - it's as much body buzz and head buzz. If you have any aches or pains, they disappear in an instant.

(God... am I that old? It is actually 'medicine' now?)

My office just launched IM. Really?

I wonder how long before I get scolded for not using it.

Whiskey. Yes, it kills it. Bourbon, light rocks. Strong stuff, like Knob Creek or Turkey 101.

Scotch won't work. Nor will vodka. Don't know why, but neither seems to sear away what's irritating the surface of the throat like near-neat bourbon.
