RMC feeling a little lonely in the party.....

Republican Majority for Choise is not to happy about Alito. So Slave, are you going to call Chafee to thank him for standing up for his principles?

Judge Alito was confirmed by the US Senate this morning by a vote of 58-42. He will replace retiring Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, a pillar for reproductive freedom and personal choice. Justice O'Connor's absence will be felt deeply as she was often the swing vote in favor of our highly valued individual freedoms. Now Associate Justice Alito was sworn in at the Supreme Court shortly after the vote today.

Our sincere thanks and support go to Senator Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island who was the only Republican Senator to stand up for principle and protection of personal freedom and voted not to confirm Judge Alito. Senator Chafee's vote is applauded and deeply respected by RMC for staying true to his own beliefs and to the beliefs of the constituents he represents. It is through trailblazing actions such as Senator Chafee's that the mission of RMC is carried out and projected onto the national stage.

We again encourage our members to thank Senator Chafee for standing up for limited government interference in our personal lives. Please call hisWashington, DC office at 202-224-2921 or click here to send him an email.

Thank you to our members for your continuing support throughout the nomination process. Your phone calls and letters made a significant impact on every individual Senator's vote. RMC pledges to continue our efforts to protect the rights of individual liberty and freedom that were established over thirty years ago. We are currently working on uniform federal legislation measures that promote prevention and are monitoring state legislation and cases that come before our state and federal appeals courts. It is these measures that provide insight into what to expect before the Supreme Court in the coming months and years.

But the conservative idiots who are politically naive and stupid enough, believe that W is one of them and critisize his father. W. smiles and pretends it does not bother him, but that person immediately becomes persona non-grata. The current amabassador to Bermuda made that mistake. He raised more money for W. than anyone else in California and thought he would become a cabinent secretary. However, he bad mouthed dad and got sent to Bermuda.

W. understands that Hillary has to critisize him to get into office, just like W. had to critisize Clinton and Clinton had to critisize his dad.

It is just the way the system works.
Hmm...cabinet secretary, reading reports and being summoned to Congressional hearings in Washington, or play golf and watch sunsets in Bermuda....decisions, decisions.

They do talk alot. Both sides don't discuss it because Hillary does not want to seem to close to W. and W. obviously does not want to seem that close to Clinton.
Better question: Does Bill want to seem that close to Hillary?

Extra credit: Do you think W. and Clinton make fun of Hillary when they chat?

I see your point, but punishment of going to bermuda doesn't really scare me.
I would have jumped at this opportunity. But if you knew this guy, you would know that it was a huge dissapointment. His whole ego and self worth is wrapped up in his being a close friend of Ws and an insider that the administration trusts. This appointment made it loud and clear that he is neither.

The Ambassador to Morrocco told me I could have had the Bermuda spot if I had kept my mouth shut (and stopped writing those editorials). Because of my big mouth I have the priviledge of Slave, Less, Gattigap and Sidd taking my hard earned money at the poker table instead of getting paid to get a sun tan. It's a cruel world.

I did to. It was pathetic. Instead of trying to spin one vote they should have kept their mouths shut instead of reconfirming everyones suspicion that they are irrelevent.

I'm sending $20 to the Laffey campaign to get rid of that RINO
POS.

I also am chomping at the bit to watch the next round of filibustering of Appellate judges invoke the nuclear option.

Why will there simply not be another swing vote? Kennedy and souter are still there, so unless one of them reverses himself from Casey, there are still five votes--those two and stevens ginsburg and breyer--to retain something of Roe. Did I miscount?

And on other topics, there will still be a potential swing vote, it's just that the median voter will be somewhat further to the right.

Exactly.

And despite the grand pronouncements of Reid, Leahy, et. al., Sandy was hardly the William Brennan they've been making her out to be.

The TVC is certainly happy. That certainly makes me uneasy. Can someone please explain to me what the "Homosexual Agenda" is? Garnishes on every drink and poporee (sp?) in every bathroom?

Dear Spanky:

Today is an exciting day! Judge Samuel Alito won confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court by a vote of 58-42. You helped make this happen. Thank you.

I have a special opportunity for you to communicate with President Bush. But you must act now.

Tomorrow, I have been invited to a White House reception honoring Supreme Court Associate Justice Alito at 4 p.m. If you’d like to write a letter of thanks to President Bush for keeping his promise to nominate judges who will faithfully interpret the Constitution-- please do so immediately. I promise to hand deliver your letter and the letters of others to the White House as I did recently with TVC supporter letters for the Alito family.

Write your letter here:
http://www.traditionalvalues.org/bush_letter.php

After you write your letter, ask a friend to write one too! Click Here to Tell a Friend!

While my staff and I were in the Senate for the vote today, I want you to know that you also played an important role in this victory. We have just witnessed history and you were part of it. Thanks again for your prayers, letters and financial support of Traditional Values Coalition’s efforts to win a second confirmation of a judicial conservative to the Supreme Court!

Your voice at the Capitol

Andrea S. Lafferty

You'll probably get a better response to this on the FB. I'll cross-post.

I think spanky learned his lesson. There's still an opening in Tuvalu for an ambassadorship.
