You wouldn’t like it. The place is clean and even the bathroom doesn’t smell of sewer.

Once you told him that he's on the list already from other sources, he stopped being such a selfish idiot, right?

My guess is that there's a higher percentage of Yang stans betting than normal distribution.

I didn't know if he was right, and I wasn't interested in researching it. He's a quirky guy. He's been right about legal stuff in the past.

He'd probably stay home anyway. I think he thinks politics is beneath him. He views everything through cycles, over extended periods. Thinks assessments of anything taking place in the moment, over a period of a few or even a dozen years, are not consequential. Classic long term investor. Slow and steady.

We never see eye to eye on the cycle thing. I think that's a flawed construct. Anything can be a cycle if you just cherry pick the metrics and timetable. Regarding Trump, he'd say, "He's just an exciting event, but all will return to stasis when this political cycle (a flirtation with populism) runs its course."

There's some wisdom to the notion history repeats itself. But it's not a predictable cycle by any means. Twain has the most accurate take: "History doesn't repeat itself but it often rhymes."

FWIW, I've a family member who's close with a long time D campaign manager (pres, house, senate races). They had dinner last week. This guy, a Carville level operator, sides with TM and Icky regarding Biden being the only possible winner on the D side.

Three second of googling will tell you that the take from vehicle registration and tax rolls too.

If you're talking about Axelrod, he's said that or close to that publicly already.

You underestimate my laziness.

And I perhaps underestimate the dryness of his wit.

Yes, it's the long-time Dom operatives who most believe that.

When my mother got the cancer, she consulted a surgeon. He proposed to operate.

eta: I guess I would like to propose that it's too soon to know yet. Biden may continue to hold an advantage with key voters in the general election, or he may not. Harris may stop saying stupid things that she has to walk back, or she may not. Bernie may discover, well, I don't know what he could do, but maybe he can do it. And so on.

No. He's not that level. Axelrod is the god of campaign management. This dude is also a bit older.

But I had not heard that from Axelrod. That's huge.

Dem operatives think Harris is DOA as front runner. VP maybe.

Bernie as President just seems... insane? And I like the guy. Shit. He and Warren are the only two candidates I'd leave alone near the good silverware. But he's not really electable.

Liz v. Joe. Winner gets to be savaged in the most ugly campaign in history. Anywhere (including Somalia).

I agree with your way too early speculation, but if it goes that way, we will see if Bernie is big enough to step aside and help Liz get past Joe.

Seems like Trump has the brainworms. As they get worse, how will those around him react? Conservatives have abandoned their principles and swallowed their pride to follow his lead, and a big part of that has been their ability to keep accepting worse and worse on the margin. In for a penny, in for a pound. So they've already convinced themselves to ignore the brainworms, but how does it play out? If they are lucky, the man will drop dead of a heart attack before he deteriorates too much, and then they can avoid a reckoning.

Spoiler alert: He is not.
