We have a factual disagreement as to whether Plame was publicly known to be a CIA agent, and covert, before Novak published the WH's story. I haven't seen anything saying her position was well-known in advance of that.
I read stuff about that way back when, and I think it was always one of those factors that was accepted or not based on your ideology. So, let's ignore that one for now, and assume, FTSOA, that she was unknown. (Translation: I'm too lazy to google it.)

My point still stands. She used her authority as an employee of the exec branch to undermine the exec. The fact of her involvement in Wilson's selection - the fact that it was a calculated move on her part and Wilson's part to discredit Bush - leaves her, IMHO, having put herself out there. You can't do that kind of thing, and then whine when someone points it out.

And it's a fair point, to which I've responded that 99% of those facts could be made public without specifically identifying her. And she could be sanctioned appropriately, as well, again without identifying her (other than that she has to explain why her energy company canned her to her friends not in the know).

How? One main point was, how would such a hack be chosen, unless he had some real critical skills that no one else had? And the answer was, he had no such skills, but wifey put his name into the hopper, and it was a mighty small hopper - in fact, it closed after she made her recommendation. So, no, there was no way to make that particular point without referring to her. And, again, when she was the one (in my mind) misusing her position, why NOT mention that? What regard was she due at that point? (I vote for "none.")

My Grandfather also accused him of being soft on Communism (being too nice to the Soviets). My great grandfather was also active in the Republican party (he was a State Senator from Everett Washington and was known as Weyerhauser's man in Olympia) and he wrote articles about Wilson being a socialist and accused Wilson of wanting to reinstitute slavery in the South (to be honest I don't know where that came from).

I think my grandfather and great grandfather, if they were still alive, would agree with Slave on most issues and would consider him a Republican.
Roosevelt was a socialist and soft on the Commies. He sacrificed the liberties of a 100million Eastern Europeans (not counting the Baltic States and the Yugoslavs) to appease Stalin. That's like what Clinton did to Elian to the 100 millionth power.

It's not like they were voters, though.

Thank ghod we've gotten back to Clinton and Reno (and Roosevelt!). I thought you might have been losing your touch.

Das anti-Kapitalists!

Speaking of the Democrats' Communistic tendencies:

Karl Marx must be rolling in his grave, and don't even ask about V. I. Lenin: Russia eliminated its inheritance tax last month. Its move comes after January's decision by the government of Sweden, the birthplace of the modern-day welfare state, to eliminate its estate tax. ........

The U.S. now has the distinction of imposing the most onerous death tax in the industrialized world. ......If this sounds, well, a bit communistic, it is. The third policy plank of Marx's "Communist Manifesto" is "taxation of all inheritance."
(hi Comrade Wonk!)

How shameful and destructive to those patriots amongst us who work hard to provide for our families. Why do the Dems seek to destroy family values, why, Bilmore, why?

London's Muslims speak out in disgust By Christine Spolar Tribune foreign correspondent
Mon Jul 11, 9:40 AM ET

Hours after terrorist bombs tore into London's transport network Thursday, Muhammed Abdul Bari experienced another high-tech explosion of hate. Someone unleashed what he called an e-mail bomb of thousands of hate-filled messages to the Web site of the Muslim Council of Britain.

By Sunday, Bari, who also is the chairman of the East London Mosque, was reading a different message. The e-mails were running about 4-1 in favor of positive messages and sympathy for the predicament facing Muslim Londoners.

I have heard you make a lot of allegations about Plame's partisanship and her influence in getting Wilson the (unpaid) job. I'd like to see a factual cite for this (NRO editorials, Washington Times articles, etc. don't count).

Good lord. Didn't we fill, like, fifteen iterations of this board covering all of these items back when? It's like someone now saying "could you please prove to me that Bush won the election, or stop calling him the president."

(But you'd take a good NYT article on faith, though, right?)

I think referring to "lies" is presumptuous. Let's wait and see what the full record shows.
