Overpriced, understyled, but a very fun car to drive.

Wasn't Funeral Blues satire?

I think posting a message on facebook to someone who died is as stupid as the anon "Happy Birthday to someone special on the FB!" posts we used to have to wade through here. !

I was with you up until the above point, but you lost me and I must officially dissent. Those Anon Birthday posts were crucial to both birthday etiquette and anonymity. Notice that since they were banned we have few if any birthday greetings, most likely to due to outability concerns, and the lack of such day to day niceties cheapens our social milieu. I guess I now blame you.

[sigh]. I guess my GM warranty is still good though, right? I thank Obama for that.

I love these kinds of posts. You are essentially saying nothing and acting like it's something.

There are things I like about facebook. There are things I don't. It is not possible to not pay attention to the things you don't like. You can't not read something. Yes, you can put everyone on ignore who's ever posted something pointless. But, just like me, they don't always do that. There are some who do it too much. They get ignored. There are others who do it every once in awhile (or a little too often). They should be informed that what they do is stupid and annoying to almost everyone besides Not Bob and those of us who can selectively ignore stuff (like you).

How do you even see this stuff if you're not paying attention to it?

For example, there is someone in my friends list who has a 1 in 20 interesting update average, but when it's interesting, it's really interesting. And it's a daily fight to keep from deleting her so I don't have to read the 3 scriptures, 1 horoscope cut-and-paste, 3 descriptions of food cravings, 2 aimless, misguided and amorphous political rants, 4 complaints about love life and 6 pointless "tgif"-type posts.

PS-But what I really look forward to from everyone are those quotes that people seize on that they think are so deep. Those really keep me going!

I'm just glad I figured out how to hide all the Farmville etc. game things.

But how is that different than any criticism about anything that annoys anyone? In fact, how is it different from your posts about how things should be? "If only everyone could be nice to each other the world would be a better place!" Right.

I think posting a message on facebook to someone who died is as stupid as the anon "Happy Birthday to someone special on the FB!" posts we used to have to wade through here. Some shit is just stupid. And since there isn't a Standard Book of Stupid,* when I point out something stupid, it is necessarily subjective.

*Hi Sarah Palin!

I almost did a "missing Joey G" post a few weeks ago to a friend who died because I was reminded of him by the Detroit Marathon. It wouldn't have been directed at my friends who didn't know Joey G, but rathe would be for the few who did. there is that aspect, we are writing things to people from several points in our lives and several degrees of closeness.

No shit? It made me cry when the guy read it at his partner's funeral in that Hugh Grant movie. I guess this means that TM is right.
