Good question. I thought it might be environmental (lowering of methane output from cows), but someone told me that they're just as bad for the environment.

How'd they figure?

I honestly don't remember. But this may shed a bit of light:

"The technology that makes the patty “bleed” is copyrighted by the Bay Area company Impossible Foods, which claims its product is better for humans and the Earth than a beef burger.

But some believe we should be skeptical of these claims. The original formulation had no cholesterol, but more salt and saturated fat than a Five Guys beef patty. As for its environmental footprint, many have criticized the push to eat more soy, which the Impossible Burger contains, since it is a soil-depleting mono-crop. (In case you’re wondering, the Impossible Burger is also not organic.)"

My daughter has recently gone vegan for environmental reasons. And let me tell you, this is not easy for her. But the way she sees it, too many of the people running this world are Narrow Pricks of Self Interest, far more interested in maximizing their returns from real estate deals than taking even the most basic steps (other than the occasional brain-dead cock-juggling lip-service bloviation) to prevent our leaders from gutting environmental protections.

In full disclosure, I continue to consume non-plant-based foods.

And you destroy habitat with your bicycle rides.

I can believe that soy is a soil-depleting mono-crop but also strongly suspect it is much better for the planet than beef. Tasty, tasty beef.

Yeah, well, thanks to a certain orange haired simpleton, we've got lots of soy hanging around rotting these days.

Post-debate, oddsmakers make Warren the frontrunner; Yang plummets on gimmick.

It seems to me right that the debate would change the odds, but because the people placing those bets are likely to overreact to a debate, not because the debate really changes what we already knew.

It’s Biden/Warren. It can only be Biden/Warren.

Wall St won’t like that. But fucking over Wall St is no longer a negative. It’s a huge positive with voters. Even with old people living on returns from pensions and retirement accounts managed by Wall St.

I, for one, did not know that Yang was this clueless, naive and crass.

He seemed more frivolous than crass IMO. He took a serious policy concept and made it seem a fixation of loopy fringe thinkers.

TBH, I don't know what happened because I have not been paying attention, but I didn't think Yang had any chance of winning the nomination.

This is where the dynamic is heading now. Expect the Bernie Bros to go all out to attack Warren. Sky rockets in flight, myosogynists delight. If he doesn't bring her down, he'll drop quickly as votes start coming in.
