Clinton lied under oath - which is a crime - that is incontrovertible. Having witnesses fear being convicted of perjury is one of the cornerstones of our judicial system. In other words, if people feel free to lie on the stand, our judicial system is comprimised. Therefore Clinton's lie undermined the integrity of the system.

Bush believed what everyone believed, including his predecesser and his predecesser's secretary of state, that Saddam had Weapons of Mass Destruction.

It is still possible that such weapons will be found.

Even if he did lie, which is improbable, such a lie would not be a crime, and it was not the sole justification for going to war.

Even if he did lie, and it was his sole justification of going to war, the consequences is that one of the most brutal regimes in history is now gone.

You need to admit that you just have it in for Bush. And stop using the stupid pretext of the lack of WMDs to justify your obsession.

I don't besmirch Bush for lying. He has the country's best intentions in mind. My problem is with anyone fool enough to delude himself into not recognizing a president engaging in willful ignoraance and lying right before their eyes. He lied. Why not just admit it?

This may be the dumbest post I have seen yet on the board. That is why Slave can't answer it. It is simply beyond comprehension that a human being could be this vapid. You aren't angry at Bush - just the people who say that he didn't lie????????. How do you know that he lied? I am almost sure that he did not. What makes you so sure he lied. I am pretty sure he believed that there were weapons of mass destruction. Do you have some definitive proof that he did not.

And who have we called a liar except Clinton? And Clinton was not only a liar but lied under oath. You are not trying to claim Clinton did not lie. So what is wrong with calling him a liar?

So you are so saying that not calloing someone a liar that we are pretty sure did not lie makes you angry, and calling someone a liar that we know for sure lied also makes you angry.

I'm saying taking all the evidence that the WMD intell was cooked by Bush and his admin, yet still believing Bush did not lie, or at a minimum, actively maintain willful ignorance, makes the person who nevertheless believes Bush was honest in the way he took us into Iraq either an imbecile, delusional or suspending disbelief. You can pick which variety of idiot you think best suits you, but you're in one.
