Unless we are discussing deposition music -- I select Crystal Method.

I am not Arnie. I have not heard The Hip's last two albums; I got off that train sometime around 1995. I'll see if I can buy them used and give them a listen.

Previously undisclosed fact: at a Tragically Hip show in Connecticut, around 1994, I was in the front row (there were only about 100 people in the club), and Gord Downie handed me the Microphone during "Courage" to sing a verse. He looked 10 kinds of fucked-up.

The hash... its good. But its made me a smilin fool. I felt like a dim child last night, giggling like an imbecile while rewatching Colbert Reports and A.Developments on my couch, nursing a bottle of Grand Marnier 100 yr recipe (good shit... in laws brought it back from the islands for me... Can’t find it in Pa).

Has it come to this? Life in a snifter, sucking black tar smoke through a Red Bull can in my backyard, checking to make sure the neighbor isn’t eyeing me up while having his fourth evening smoke? Maybe it’s a good thing... Keeps his goddamned kids out of my yard.

I need the Big Brain Scramble again... No fount of new material in my actual reality. So bored. So very very bored.
Last week's Arrested Development was all kinds of genius. "We've had plenty of chances. Maybe we're just not worth saving."

All those self-referential bits, and a randomly racist old woman. Doesn't get funnier than that. Except maybe, the booze cruise episode of the Office. Talk about a show that outdoes itself every week. There's a deleted scene on nbc.com that shows Angela at the bar discouraging people from drinking more -- very droll.

Anyone else get this e-mail today about a new associate website?

They got my name and firm wrong on the e-mail sent to me, but I'm sure it is just opening day kinks...

Dear Sherri,

Judgment day for Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP has come! Never again will the information in the market about your firm be the same. Allow me to explain.

Our site was built for you specifically, is free and is currently less than one hour old! Our site is so technologically advanced it took us over a year to build and some of us "insiders" actually know a lot about programming. We are about to make you part of history and years from now we hope you will remember "where you were and what you were doing" when you first got this email.

We are inviting you to be part of a national movement among law firm associates who want to know the truth about their law firms and others! We need your participation. We promise we are going to make it fun for you! At Judged you can find out about things like sex and romance at your firm and others, the quality of the work going on and more-all anonymously and with zero censorship!

Every associate in your firm is part of a select group of firms that is being targeted first for information. Do not spoil the buzz and tell partners in your firm about Judged! This is a fun community for all of us where we can share information and exchange ideas anonymously. This week we are only interested in the opinions of top associates in America like you! Your firm has been selected as among the the first few to be surveyed because the word on the street we're going to get some good information. You know what we're talking about, right?

Judged is a public forum where every associate at every law firm in the United States will have the opportunity to participate in an online community. You and your firm are among the first to be surveyed. Every associate in America is on the survey list from this very moment!!

As the Judge of all law firms, I would like to request you to fill out a quick anonymous survey about your firm on www.judged.com right now-it only takes a few minutes and will become a dynamic record, part of a book, part of media surveys and more! Use your private email address--we're going to send you some really interesting stuff that will "blow your socks off" once we you have signed up.

Do not forget to look around and start a chat on our chat board. You and associates at your firm will anonymously all be able to share and see each others comments. In addition, you will be doing a service to the legal community by filling out this anonymous survey. So go to www.judged.com and see what is going on.

Things will never be the same!

Sincerely,

THE JUDGE

p.s. There is a lot going on right now on Judged! This is our launch day and we are very excited about getting out the word! Tell others!

p.s.p.s. You will be surprised at how much information you will learn by taking a survey on Judged! We want to blow you away!

I'm looking forward to looking back fondly upon exactly where I was (at work!) and what I was doing (reading an e-mail!) when I first heard of The Judge. I'm sure that exact moment will be forever emblazoned upon my soul. Deep.

I think the graphic on the site is supposed to be someone getting paddled. But I think it looks more like someone getting a bottle shoved up em's ass. Perhaps they should consider using a corncob?

Oh my god! What a coincidence! They have a fashion board under their "general discussion" topics!
