The question you asked on fb was much different. It was "who wins in a war between the two." Omar wins that battle because Walter has a family and he's often completely exposed to a guy who has the patience to set up shot for 3 weeks to get you at your most vulnerable.

But the question of what would happen if Omar just started robbing Walter is completely different. Omar would make a lot of money off of Walter for quite some time. But Walter would learn from Omar's typical game plan and figure out how to win the battle, if not the war. Omar would surely either end up in jail for a quick robbery bid or would have to leave town once Walter turned up all kinds of heat. But you best believe Omar would have the last laugh, especially if Walter killed one of Omar's PYTs.

Neither Omar or Walt would get into a war, except as a fall out of Omar robbing Walt. They both kill when necessary, but not otherwise. And Walt would never kill one of Omar's beaus, unless as collateral damage. Putting aside realities (Omar has no idea where to hide in NM) Omar would win. At best, Walter would have one chance to take him out, because after that, just like Bird went down, Omar would get with Hank.

"Putting aside realities?" Omar doesn't know where to hide in NM. WW doesn't know how to operate in Balmer. For the question to work you have to assume they're both on even ground. That's the point of a hypothetical.

Omar would get away with one, and maybe even two robberies before Walt realizes he has a problem. We agree there. But Omar is just going to work there, he has no grudge. Omar wouldn't shoot anyone at the robberies unless SPOILER





Walt's dumb new helper draws on him. If he does, the dumb new helper is dead, but even then Omar wouldn't shoot Walt.

It will be Walt that declares war after the second robbery. That is why Walt gets a shot at Omar, and he could kill him. As you say, Walt is not busting in Omar's door carrying a shotgun. It'll be a bomb or maybe poison. Omar has not dealt with that yet. Even Brother Mouzone, while crafty, used traditional weapons.

So Walt will have one shot. If Omar survives then Walt is dead.

But now you're just making what would be an awesome show less interesting.

Omar would study WW. Omar would learn how WW handles problems, whether it be by bullet, bomb, pizzen or whatever else. Then the game becomes, can Omar stay hidden in the streets enough to outwit Walt's special brand of criminal genius. If Omar sensed WW coming for him, maybe WW gets a shot, maybe he doesn't.
