And although I have to say that I would never choose your life among the happy back-of-the-bus retards, I do admit to curiosity, for it strikes me that these happy retards are, in fact, genuinely happy, or at least as happy as their diminished capacity allows. And sometimes I wonder what that is like.

yes. And I also hung out at the back of bus and tried to get happy with that crowd, but still somewhere in the back of my mind I knew I was different- better - and i knew that my "better" really meant "unhappy:( ."

I guess that's a good poll question: What is something that you wish you had the time to do? I'd probably still answer with the Appalachain trial, though I'd also really like one day to really explore Latin America. A friend of mine from high school took a jeep and drove from Mexico to Chile after college, and the trip sounded amazing. I don't think I could do it alone, though, and there are probably parts of it that are just unsafe in general, no matter how well you speak Spanish or what your sex is. But it sounded cool.
