Mehersle verdict prediction: Not guilty on all counts. But I'm sure we'll all be healed in the warm glow of Downtown Oakland as it burns.

ETA The Alameda courthouses have been evacuated by the PJ's order. Evacuated. Jesus.

I have read about it, but not gone yet. They have only just started serving dinner. Plus, it is near the ballpark so there is no parking when the Giants are home.

From the site: "ask the staff about wine & grilled cheese pairings." I think this place has promise.

I do think we're well past 2.0. Maybe 6.6.6?

Alright, involuntary manslaughter for the BART cop. I was wrong. This is the judge's worst nightmare, because there will be riots again when he is sentenced. Stay safe, East Bay people(s).

[not gloating] Particularly if he grants probation. [/not gloating]

ETA: I appear to be wrong. Because of the enhancement for using a firearm, probation is not possible and his sentence will be either 5-14 years or 4-12 (I have heard conflicting reports).

Burris is saying family is "extremely disappointed"; Grant's mom is insisting he was "murdered"; Grant's uncle is saying "We truly do not blame the jury but we blame the system"; and community organizer Aidge Patterson is calling the verdict "a mockery" and "a complete injustice."

Can I buy stock in riots?

For those of us not watching ESPN, I gather that after 21 minutes the grand decision has yet to be unveiled. WTF are they broadcasting right now?

It sounded like he'd announced Miami, though we only saw two seconds of the thing as we were flipping through to get over to Bravo for Top Chef.

ETA: apparently top chef isn't on for a half hour, and since we haven't watched enough soccer in the last month, we're watching Real Salt Lake v. Chicago.

I wasn't complaining, since I didn't have to watch it. I was just curious about what I wasn't watching.
